I went to go see Kim Chi on Nov 16th, 2018. The tickets said the doors would open at 9, and the show would start at '10 PM' sharp. We arrived at 920, there was a huge line, I don't think they started to let people in until 940, and it was -20. It was about 1020 before we even got inside. A friend said their drink price doubled between drinks, for some reason. Coat check was a mess (they handed us the wrong jacket tickets, and when I went to go get my jacket, it seemed like they couldn't find the person in front of me's jacket). So the show started at 11, the bass was so loud that we couldn't even hear the words the queens were lip syncing to, and the hosts came across as mean. They basically rubbed it in our face that they had a warm room to stay in while we froze, because the club was also freezing because the doors couldn't close, they made jokes about not getting refunded, and their overall humour felt mean and abrasive (some of their jokes were kinda racist, too). It was the worst drag show I've ever been to. The staff seemed irritated with US, even though we had every right to be irritated with them. They should have been grovelling for forgiveness after making us stand in -20 for an hour.

Last night was my first time at Divas and I must say that I’ve never seen a business so grossly unprepared in my life. My friends and I waited in line to see Kim Chi for an hour in -20 weather. Many people were not dressed for the occasion as most of us were not expecting to be out in the cold. Once inside, the employees did not show any compassion to those outside, instead acting as the situation was one big joke. The stage was too low so I couldn’t see much of anything. Not to mention the terrible sound system they have. Overall, bad experience. I will not be coming back and Divas owe everybody an apology.

Owner physically pushed me away from the "VIP room." I understand there is a level of recongition among upper level management, employees and private guests. However, there is no need for physical contact towards customers, especially when such a room is not labelled as "private party" and/or even blocked off from the general public of the club. An employee witnessed the incident and apologized on behalf of the owner/club. Very unprofessional indeed and would not recommend on working for or supporting this business.

A friend and I attended Diva's tonight and while we were upstairs dancing and minding our own we noticed another patron appear to start recording us with his iphone (he pointed the camera directly at us and the flash came on and was illuminated for several seconds) before he appeared to finish and then begin tapping away at his phone. Being recorded without your prior consent is just rude, and when we mentioned this incident to security we were told that "He's friends with the owners" and when we asked if security would do anything about it we were told "you guys go talk to him". So we did. He gave us the typical, privileged excuse that he was just recording the happenings below and happened to record us right at the end. Alright then Luke, why did I watch your flash illuminate while you stared intently at your screen, seeming to notice me before stopping? As a establishment that's all about inclusion, and as Indigenous patrons we certainly didn't feel welcomed so we immediately departed. It's a shame, I've visited Diva's in the past and enjoyed myself but I will avoid this bar from now on.

Friend bought a round and spilled a shot due to how busy the bar was. Asked if we could get another and received a rude and dismissive response from the bartender. I get if that's the policy but being nicer about it probably couldn't hurt.

I'm not usually harsh on businesses or clubs, but I'll keep it professional. Went out with a friend of mine and was in the washroom with her, sharing a stall (as we do when we drink lol) and was super surprised when a unnecessarily aggressive male bouncer started banging on the stall door, exclaiming that there was only one person to a stall. I understand why they enforce this, but read the room (or stall lol). Having a man literally looking into your stall when you're on the toilet just makes for a weird and very unsettling experience. Not the vibe I was expecting

Best place to dance in town. . . i recommend going at 11pm on a friday before the after bar crowd takes over - tons of room to dance & flowing with positive vibes. Then likely best to sneak out around 1/1:30am unless you want to get swallowed up by the more straight leaning meat market scene.
