β β β β β ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. Garbage student service, garbage courses, the research is a mine field. Staff has zero respect for students. They persuaded me to do an intern because they can't find the right people for this picky company; then procrastinated on my documents until whole thing went sour and just canceled the whole thing.

β β β β β Pls pls pls stay away from MIE M.Eng program. There is no doubt that U of T is a tier 1 school, but the admin for this program is tier 10. If there is an option for negative stars, the admin deserves it. I have one more year to go, so I will keep updating this review. So far: 1) 0 feedback on documents that didn't meet requirements. The official transcript I submitted for application didn't have the degree conferred. Later I found out that I ordered the transcript after my graduation ceremony but prior to the system updating my conferred degree. However, i didn't realize the conferred degree was not on the transcript until I called in after emailing MIE many times with no responses. 2) Summer is not a scheduled break. If you want to go with extended full time option and intern in summer as an international student, nope, not allowed. This was not written anywhere on the website when I applied, and yet the admin said so 3) Enrolling courses was never smooth. The enrollment system opened earlier than scheduled. The system blocked MIE grad students from enrolling MIE courses while students from other departments could enroll without problems. 07/22/2021 edits: great, they got course enrollment right 3 times in a row, amazing!! However, getting emails replied from the department is still a headache. You may have a better chance winning a lottery than getting your emails answered. Call them? nope, no one works in the office rn i guess

β β β β β Terrible staff, from the deans to the professors. Absolutely irresponsible, mentally ill and corrupted individuals. Being a student here felt like being a sheep in a barn. They control you and feed you garbage, then slaughter you by undermining your work and efforts. If one word could describe them is 'BULLY'. They're the bullies that are getting paid. stay away!
