My husband and I went there around 4:00 PM and the place wasn't that crowded but people started coming in shortly after. ?We had the cauliflower wings with Sriracha lime sauce and they are crunchy and delicious! Loved the sriracha lime combo. ?My husband had their Big Mac pizza and the first thing he said is that it tastes like Big Mac. This one's vegan though and has ground Beyond meat topped with vegan cheese, their Big Mac sauce, shredded lettuce, and the crust's sprinkled with sesame seeds. Yum~ ? I had the Banh Mi sandwich and it was also delicious but I wish it was served with sourdough baguette instead. I also noticed there's thyme and I thought it doesn't really go with the rest of the sandwich and I didn't think the walnut pate spread worked well either. Also the tofu slices could be cut a little thicker. But overall, I was very happy with my order. Portions are very filling! I couldn't finish my sandwich and was so happy to take the rest to go. ☕Their coffee smelled incredibly good, but unfortunately I'm not a coffee person and I definitely don't drink coffee after 11:00 am. Their coffee is vegan by the way. ?They also have a variety of vegan pastries as well (including vegan donuts that I want to try the next time I'm there). We were very tempted to try their nachos but decided to go with the cauliflower wings. We're definitely gonna try them next time we go! ??Washrooms are gender neutral! The ambiance of the place is nice and simple and is perfect for small gatherings.

Pretty awesome vegan snackies! But I haven’t ever had an amazing interactions with the people working there… really puts a damper on the taste of food and drink when you feel like those serving you are disturbed by helping you:/

My first time at this cafe. I live in East end Hamilton and it was worth the drive. Nice big mug of hot tea, roll up door was open and the fresh air was amazing. Enjoyed talking to my friend and playing backgammon

I bought food for my brother since he is a vegan. He loved very bite. He definitely recommends this location to everyone.

I got a kombucha, banh mi sandwich and shared the cauliflower wings to start. All the food was delicious. The cauliflower wings were huge but nice and crunchy! The banh mi is a fun take on the traditional sandwich (I loved the vegan pate). I took a star off because the service was really slow and our starter came out at the same time as our meals. I think the wait wouldn’t have been as noticeable if the starter came out first. The food was delicious though (and I got to enjoy my leftovers the next day, as pictured). I would highly recommend!

First time trying the food here, have tried coffee years ago. Was here August 5. 2021. Ordered the fries and beyond meat burger. Fries were amazing, loved what ever seasoning was placed on top. Burger was juicy and flavourful but the bun was a little over toasted. Tried the deep fried cauliflower and they were good and very large.

Everyone in the office LOVED it! We ordered from DEMOCRACY on Tuesday for lunch. It was one of the Dentist’s birthdays. She eats a vegetarian diet with no eggs, so we wanted to be respectful of that when choosing a takeout restaurant. After a quick GOOGLE search, DEMOCRACY came up amongst the top 10 VEGAN restaurants in Hamilton. We had to feed a staff of 8, some of whom are regular meat eaters. Some of the comments heard after lunch were: “I can’t believe all of that food was vegan!”, “The burger was so delicious - I couldn’t tell it wasn’t meat.”, and “Let’s order from there again next time we have a vegetarian lunch.” We ordered 2 pizzas, 3 boxes of cauliflower wings, 4 burgers, fries, supreme fries, sweet potato fries, chilli, and a box of assorted desert squares. With a small tip, we rounded the total up to an even $200, which seemed to be a reasonable cost for lunch for 8 people with lots of food leftover. It’s very difficult to please a staff of all women with various tastes and opinions, but DEMOCRACY was a true crowd pleaser. We will definitely be ordering again!

This place is great, the food and the ambiance. We got ourselves some nachos and burger pizza. All of course are vegan! The table we sat was an open area where we could eat and smell the fresh air. Definitely will come back next time.
