Had a good stay other then the couple complaints I have. The dishes were dirty with food on them so I had to wash everything before I was able to use it which was quite an inconvenience when I expected to have a relaxing time while in the suite. And I wasn't told that I needed to bring chains for my vehicle. I haven't been up there since I was 12 so I didn't know I needed them. Would have been nice to have been told that. And worst of all. The bathtub was dirty. I was about to fill the tub and noticed the sides didn't feel smooth. I wet a facecloth and started rubbing the inner sides of the tub and it became smooth... So the bathtub wasn't even washed properly. Very very gross!!

Amazing location and friendly staff. The full kitchen is awesome. Accommodations could use some updates. Much of the furniture was broken (chairs missing slats, damaged tables, rips in the couches), the mattresses were VERY old and uncomfortable, still had tube TVs and old stereos in most of the rooms. Rooms were fairly clean but many of the linens (towels, duvets, sheets) had stains and holes. WiFi is super slow. This place could be amazing with some cosmetic and technology updates!

Overall great stay. Locker downstairs for skii stuff. Two closets! The hot tub is right temp to stay in for a while and watch the skiers go by. There was a washer, dryer, toaster, and a kettle even though the description only said fridge, coffee maker and microwave oven. The kettle was dirty so I see why it was not advertised. Still loved to have the extras! The front staff were very nice and helpful. The few oddities were photos of children on the walls.. and there was an envelope for gratuities for housekeeping. I love this idea however this lodge doesn't have daily housekeeping. You have to clean everything yourself, dishes, etc and take out the trash or else they will charge you $100. Felt guilted into leaving $$ instead of feeling grateful. Not how I wanted the end of the trip to be. Oh well. I would go back as it was super convenient!

Disappointed with this place. Rooms okay, but dated furniture, a few dirty dishes, poor shower head and flushing toilet. Kids slept on hide a bed, but very poor quality and they ended up sleeping on the floor as it was more comfortable on their backs. We were in unit 314A, which is on the parking lot side and all night long two tractors were clearing snow starting at midnight and no one slept with the noise and the constant beep beep beep as they backed up. Temperature in building is way too high even with in suite thermostats turned off so you need to open windows.

It was great to stay slopeside, but the bed was horrible, I didn't sleep much during the 2 nights. It was a double bed, and seemed like the mattress was 30 years old - dipped in the centre, I had to sleep on the couch. I would recommend the Best Western in Courtenay, a short drive to the hill and if you say you are going skiing you get a great price for a king size bed (new) and breakfast.

We have been here several times and enjoy it each time. I wish the website showed each condo, including their amenities. The condition of the condos varies depending on the owner. True ski in, ski out.

307 was a great suite! Parkade was nice to have in winter. Parkade has an elevator right to each floor. Each suite has a locker for skis and gear down in the parkade with dolly’s to wheel your gear upstairs! Great view of the night skiing hill. Make sure if you book the midweek deal with the ski passes you take them over to the yearly pass window and get them split into two individual tickets or you HAVE to use them consecutively! 307 had everything you need including washer and dryer! Two bathrooms as well!

I don’t throw 5 star ratings around like snowballs. 4 stars for Deer Lodge to me, suggests good value, cleanliness, and ease of check in/use. We would stay a 3rd or 4th time. This lodge is right on the ski hill with a secure underground parkade. Each room has a locker in the parkade for ski gear, which not only saves lugging ski gear, but expedites the ski day. (Note the penalties for bringing ski gear into the room). Simply get your ski gear, and walk out of the parkade and onto the slope. Literally. Bear Lodge is one building further away, so Deer Lodge has the easiest access. The building/decor, furnishings are a bit dated. Our deck needed an overhaul. That said, the skiing is great and the overall experience is well worth it. These are owner rented condos so each may be unique. Free extra parking is included for an additional vehicle out front. The hot tub requires sign up… which is fine in a nearly post covid world. Hot tubs generally terrify me anyhow… just as well. The views are good whether you face either side. The carpets are the same throughout, and remind one of community centre carpet in the mid 90’s…. All these are minor β€œnotes” among a good place to ski and stay.
