Dawnville Farms

Riders BEWARE! Had a lesson that was pre-paid, owner cancelled the lesson on me at the last minute leading me to wait another week before being able to attend my lesson. Once it came time for the lesson, no communication from the instructor to confirm the lesson appointment. Arrived at the barn on time. Was instructed to tack the horse myself when I did not know where tack was and it was my first time in this barn. Even though I'm still a beginner rider, the owner had me ride a horse that was obviously more experienced than me. She kept correcting everything I was doing even though I know how to tack a horse and I've been doing it for a few years. I tightened the girth as most riders do-however she wanted the girth looser while I was riding. Lesson lasted maybe 20 min. Horse was a little out of control, leading me to fall off the horse for the first time. I was in so much shock from falling so hard it took me a few minutes before I could get back up. Owner showed no compassion what so ever if I was hurt or even okay. She was more concerned about the horse than me on the ground. I believe if that girth was tightened properly I would of never fallen off that horse and would not be injured right now. I left the barn injured with no apology. I will be letting all my horse mates know to stay away from this stable. And maybe the owner needs to show a little compassion when her riders get injured. Very lucky I signed that waiver, otherwise there would be more problems.

My daughter has just started riding lessons at Dawnville Farms and I couldn't be happier. They take the time and care to properly train her in all aspects of the riding and the horse that she is riding is excellent for a beginner rider. Every week she looks forward to coming!
