β β β β β I love coming here! It feels familiar to me because of my background in martial arts, I like the consistency, the strictness and the attention to mastery, I like pushing and seeing what my body can do even after years out of the art.
My 7 year old daughter and I have been coming to Danforth Karate for 4 months and it already feels like home.
Helen the first face you see when you walk in, she is inviting and friendly, she has her first Dan black belt. Shihan with his 7th Dan black belt and over 40 years experience is a skilled master of the art he is a wonderful and strict teacher focused on his students mastering the basics, not rushing through the levels. Sensai is a 4th Dan black belt and friendly teacher he teaches most of the lower level belt classes, he is patient and always has time to teach you more after class if you are so inclined, correcting what needs correcting.
Danforth karate is not a flashy or fancy school, they rarely do competitions or performances, this is a place to come for gaining the skill for mastering classical karate. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to master the art of karate.

β β β β β Not really a good school. They seem like nice people but not good teachers . They like to attract new students, but once they're in the system , the quality of teaching seems diluted and dry. There are definitely better Karate schools out there . My 2 cents , don't waste your time and money .We've seen many kids and adults not go back and we've always wondered why. We have two kids ourselves who we've transferred to another school and I can see they're happier and are getting better and higher quality instruction compared to this one.

β β β β β I trained at Danforth Karate for a while, it's hands down the best Karate / Martial Arts school in Toronto. I unfortunately moved away and have not been able to find another school of there caliber it greatly saddened me and I haven't trained since. I Highly Recommend Danforth Karate Academy for all ages. you won't be disappointed

I have trained with many instructors threw out my life, and I have never experienced such top notch quality instruction anywhere else, then where I train now at Danforth Karate, our Head Instructor is held in such high regard with other school owners!
I highly recommend Danforth Karate to anyone looking for Martial Art's Lessons for them selves or family members

β β β β β My wife and daughter go to Danforth Karate Academy and they love it. The instructors have integrity, are professional AND fun. When we enrolled my daughter into the school I wanted to make sure she would get the right balance of discipline and fun - basically not be scared off by it - and I can't believe what she is capable of doing and it's not even been a full year yet!
Her confidence levels have boosted, she is becoming more agile and aware, stronger and disciplined. She also gets to take the family class with her mother - you can't beat that anywhere. Hands down I'm so happy they are being mentored and guided by the instructors at DKA - no gimmicks - straight up Karate.

β β β β β I have a great deal of gratitude for Danforth Karate Academy and all that they have instilled in me. As a Teen when I trained there I developed a better sense of Focus and Discipline and a never quit Attitude, which help improve my grades in high school, it also gave me an outlet for the hard and frustrating day's a place to expel negative energy, Danforth Karate was like a 2nd family to me, I developed some great relationships with my fellow students and the staff young and old, your not just a student or a number, your a part of the family/community, it was a sad day for me when my family moved out of area and I had to stop training ,in my new home town and surrounding area we were unable to find a Dojo of the same calibre as Danforth Karate, and that was very disheartening for me. I have carried on their teachings into my everyday life, and now I try to pass down there values into my children. I wish I lived closer as I would enrol all 4 of my children at the Dojo and keep them there till they went off to College/University, Karate is a life skill and it's takes a life time to master, and shouldn't been seen as βjust another activityβ

β β β β β Best place to learn Shotokan Karate in Toronto. Helped me to learn from the basics with no pressure. I had my concerns about starting Karate at a late stage. But this a place for all ages and experience levels. Absolutely love sweating it out in the Dojo with great Co-practitioners.
