I only gave this a 2 out of 5 because we went as a family ride and we where split up it would have been nice to ride in a group so we could at least talk to each other during the ride without having to yell. I was at the very back of the group my daughter was directly in front of me but my wife was 6 or so horses ahead of us just not my view of a family ride that we had planned on. I kinda thought maybe there would be something historical to see along the trail we rode on as well other than that the ride was good horses are well mannered and well cared for .

This is a great place to go when camping in the park. The horses and quiet and the crew picks the horse to suit the rider. When we went one of the youngest in the crew had the best horse. Wouldn't spook even if you tried. You can also tell the horses are cared for well and not mistreated. Will go again

Love this place! My 4 year old asks almost daily if we are going to see John Henry today! Staff and horses are great. Very gentle, beautiful scenery and wildlife frequent the trails. Sunset rides are the best!

We had the best experience with my four-year old today. The guides took the time to introduce her to the horse and patiently answered all her questions, and was very accommodating when she decided that she wanted to ride with an adult. The ladies who led our ride were super patient and calm. This is the best experience that I could have ever hoped for for a first ride for my child. I would highly recommend this adventure to anyone visiting the park!

Beautiful trail ride today. This was a wonderful way to wrap up our holiday. The staff is very friendly and the horses are just lovely. I rode Tango who was so sweet and calm. The trail was full of wild flowers. No need for bug spray. I feel they could charge more since I’m used to paying more for a trail ride. I would highly recommend.

I usually only review places I love but really want to save someone else from the experience we had here. TL;DR: If you and your children are already comfortable with horses, this will probably be a very great ride for you. If you are a first time rider or not as confident around horses, beware. My 5yo got on the horse (maybe the second time in his life) and was immediately crying and scared. The owner (I think) took him down and said “I’ll give you a minute to talk” and left us alone for about that long. I tried to convince my kid to get on but he was too nervous. He wanted to ride with me. “Nope, too big,” I was told, which was not really believable considering there were single riders who would have been heavier than the two of us together. Owner said “so are you coming?” “No, I guess not..” and that was it, off the group rode. Owner immediately became very busy (I’m sure to avoid me asking for a refund of the $50 I had given him five minutes beforehand) and nobody ever talked to us again. The driver we had arrived with was on the horse ride so we walked back to our campsite. When the group returned it was reported that the majority of the kids in our group had had a great ride. However, one child was scared and sobbing the entire ride, with several horses between her and her mom, who repeatedly asked if she could stop and go check on her daughter and was told “nope, the horses don’t get along, we have to stay in order.” Another excuse I am sure, as when the group was being sent out there was seemingly no issue amongst horses nor organized queue of horses. All in all the experience, and the insensitive and unfeeling treatment left a very bad taste, and I would never return.

Just lovely spot for family camping. So many activities around - lake, pedal boats and paddle boards for rental, awesome biking trails that are doable with kids, zipline nearby, horse riding and even tennis courts!!!! We come every year from Calgary and it's our meeting camping spot with SK family.

Great place for easy-going, guided, horseback riding. The two hosts were great and very accommodating for our large group. The little jaunt (just under an hour) around the forested areas of Cypress Hills was fantastic. Great value for the price ($25 per person) and everyone, even our kids wanted to go another round when we finished the tour. You will need to call them to book, but they do about 6 tours a day, so there should be ample room to participate (advance booking is advised during busy season).
