Also, I wet the band for extra cooling when needed. I wish the older version was still available, much better looking and I don't like the metal logo tab, for looks, heat attract-er, and something that hurts if you bump your head.

I normally wear a 7 3/8 but would order a 7 1/2 as it give me a better fit if I fold out the ear flaps + I can make the cap tighter by using the outside strings on the external flaps.

The hats are warm and substantial but the sizing instructions from Crown Cap just does not match up to my own physical head dimensions. My previous Crown Cap from 15 years ago was a "large" and fit perfectly. When ordering the new hat, I repeated the measurements according to the fitment instructions and the measurement fell within the parameters for a "large" size. But the new Fudd style hat was just too small and had to be returned. I am awaiting on an exchange for the next size up. Great hats, unique and satisfyingly do the job for keeping you warm--but buying a hat without being able to try it on first can be a challenge. Their return policy is simple and I appreciate their good customer service.

I bought it at a shopping stand at the ferry terminal, so got to try it on and it fits perfect. I wanted another one as I often misplace this one, but the two new ones I just ordered are too small even though I ordered the same size as my first one. Guess its always best if you can try them on first. I love the quality of these hats, was just disappointed ordering from the website. Not likely to be able to send back during Covid, and get a larger size
