Craig Race failed to disclose a conflict of interest to us. He owns Lanescape and hires himself to do the architectural drawings without disclosing this to his customers and omitting this from his contracts. He is a dishonest person and failed to deliver the services we paid for. He completely lacks integrity and I would not recommend him to anyone.

Craig is an incredible architect and professional. He and his team did an amazing job on our project. I would recommend his firm to anyone in need of a creative design or expert guidance.

I have had the opportunity to work with Craig and his staff in multiple capacities on several projects. Any questions or concerns were always dealt with promptly and earnestly. Craig's approach to building envelope design has increased my understanding and appreciation of what makes a comfortable, efficient, long lasting structure. I am always looking forward to seeing his next exciting and inspired design.

I am pleased to recommend Craig Race, Architect, without reservation. .. My wife, Elaine, and I first contacted him from the Globe and Mail articles about the laneway housing bylaw proposal.. As he had early knowledge and participation in the creation of the bylaw, he was very much what we were looking for with our unusual City of Toronto lot. After meeting with him several times and designing a concept, Craig took the reins and lead us through the Committee of Adjustment process and ultimately through building permit. Though I am an experienced builderβ€”11 self storage buildings and two luxury homes in North Torontoβ€”I was happy to have Craig as point man through the city process. At the outset of the Committee hearing, beginning with the Committee members discussions, it appeared we were doomed. However, in 20 minutes, Craig artfully changed their minds with logic and charm, resulting in a unanimous approval. Subsequently, Craig guided us, successfully, through an appeal by a vexatious developer neighbour and punitive development charges negotiations with the City, resulting in savings of $192,000. Our meetings, interactions and telephone conferences have always been punctual and enjoyable.Β Β We have found his fees reasonable. Additionally, I would like to say that his adjutant, Sarah Donaldson, is also a pleasure to work with and exceedingly competent. I would be happy to discuss our experience with Craig Race Architecture if requested.

Craig Race and his team helped us with a design for a large renovation on our heritage home just outside of Toronto. Craig was very easy to work with, professional and very understanding of the situation we were in with the heritage requirements. We had a very specific requirements we wanted to meet and Craig and his team took the time to listen and understand our interests. They proposed some great options and we were able to come to a great design for our forever home. We couldn't have been happier with the team at Craig Race Architecture and would happier refer our friends to this team.

I met with Craig one day and outlined what I wanted in a house and he came back with pretty much the end plan! With only a few adjustments from there we had a plan and put it into execution. Craig gets design, he gets structure and he gets what living in a space is actually going to be. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him on this project and respected the time he took at the drop of a hat sometimes to quell my fears or to simply problem solve. As with any build, there are issues along the way but Craig always worked with both myself and my builder to address concerns. There were certainly modifications that had to be made and he was great working through these things as well. Craig remained opened to ideas brought forward throughout the project and was quite present to the project despite it being over 100km commute! There are still some finishing pieces...a deck as in the plan, landscaping as well but living in my stacked rectangular box has been great so far. Despite the success, I am already looking down the road to another build in the future...I just hope I get to work with such a great architect...if he'll have me as a client again!

Craig was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He walked us through the design development stage and helped us to figure out our "wants" vs "needs". We had a rough idea for the cottage look and layout - and Craig took that concept and made it a million times better! Everyone who has seen our cottage loves the design and we are extremely happy with the space. Craig adapted the design to suit our budgets as actual costs started to be known so we could stay on budget. His design is flexible, energy efficient and allows us to upgrade elements as our cottage eventually becomes our retirement home. Thank you Craig for all your hard work!
