Concrete Experts - Calgary

I hired Concrete Experts to do void fill under my back yard concrete patio. Customer service right from the start was excellent. During a very busy summer season they were able to coordinate with my schedule to provide an estimate and perform the work. Dallin is very professional and receptive to my concerns and the work I wanted done. He answered all of my questions, explained the work methods and how the product works very well, and worked with me to find practical solutions. The crew who did the work was excellent. They were very professional and friendly again and did exactly as was discussed in the estimate. They went the extra steps to work around my wood deck that was in the way to address my primary concern area. After the work was done they did a walk-through with me and explained everything that was done, including the sizes of the voids they found in different areas. The finished product looks great as well. I'm very happy with the finish around the edges and at the drill locations. They did a great job cleaning up with they were done. At the end the final price was exactly as quoted. I definitely recommend Concrete Experts, and will call them again if I need concrete work in the future. -Russell

We are a condo complex of 38 units, each containing a double driveway, walkway, steps and a porch. Crack repairing, power washing and sealing was required. The units were divided into three groups, each requiring two days to do the work. Our main contact was Jack Davis (Head of Sealing Division). Jack was super easy to communicate with, he was very familiar with the product and its application, he visited the crew frequently and he represented the professional attitude of the company very well. The proof of excellence in the work performed is that all the unit holders were very pleased with the results. Would we approach Concrete Experts for our future needs? Absolutely. CE is a well run organization with sound and responsible management and with crew personnel who are thorough in the work performed.

We had Concrete Experts come out to re-do our driveway this past summer and the team was amazing! Incredibly efficient and always on time! They were wonderful to work with and honest with their quote and worked to make sure they stayed within it (even if hiccups arose)! Definitely recommending them to friends and others we know! I'm so impressed with Bryan! Our first experience: I first spoke to Bryan, Oct 2020 with a stressful emergency situation. Initially my husband and I, hired a "different concrete company, who failed miserably in all areas!" We needed to find another company to salvage our concrete job asap. Before speaking to Bryan, I called a few other companies, and was either told they could fit the job in (with quotes reflecting very evident up-charging in our desperation), or they couldn't help us, understandably trying to wrap up their current projects before winter. Then I spoke with Bryan, and he literally "rescued our incomplete concrete job" from sitting unfinished over the winter. Incidentally this would have caused winter projects scheduled after the concrete, to be put on hold. Bryan himself was booked solid, yet he made time to get our job completed, "without gouging us, even knowing we were desperate". I believe it was because we were so desperate, combined with Bryan's kind character, that had him take on our project amongst an already tight schedule. To our absolute relief, he came through with "over and above customer service". Bryan is professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly CARES about his customers and workmanship!!! He and his team of staff take pride in ensuring each project is to the customers satisfaction. Our second experience: We hired Bryan to complete another concrete project summer 2021. A complication arose with color matching to an adjacent older original concrete pad. Bryan listened, and alleviated our concerns with his outstanding integrity and genuine care for his customers, making the situation right. Bryan has shown his motivations are not driven by profits, rather his INTEGRITY, PROFESSIONALISM and UTMOST CARE to providing EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE to his customers!! It was through Concrete Experts high rating and excellent reviews that motivated me to call them. Paying it forward, like all of the customers before me (with their bang on, positive reviews of Bryan and Concrete Experts) that greatly helped in my search for the best concrete company to deal with. A good and honest group of people to deal with from the start for a concrete patio that I needed lifted. Dallin was through in explaining his estimate and the work that needed to be done. Mitch and Cale were the crew that conducted the work. They were both very professional and personable, Mitch’s sense for what and where the pad needed to be lifted was skillful and really demonstrated his depth of experience. Highly recommend. Attached is a picture of the patch that Cale did, you can BARELY tell where the hole was drilled. Thanks guys!

Bryan came and estimated the work for me. He came back and did the work as we agreed and the outcomes were very good for the entire scope; however; I had a concern in one area that was not fill out properly from my opinion. I did ask Bryan via emails with the photos to come back and fill out the area of concern, but he start talking about extra charges to fill the hole who left behind “which is part of his scope - under the slab towards the 1st door step”. Also mentioned he won’t guarantee ploy to not go over the stucco due to the location and the high pressure unless the entire area get sealed. For me, this is why I hired expert to assess the job site and come up with plan HOW to address ALL the issues BEFORE he starts the job. Not to leave an outstanding area and offer another FREE visit to start bargaining again for EXTRA charges. My comments for those who want to hire Concrete Expert make sure to go through the scope with Bryan in DETAILS to ensure you get the right service. Am I hiring him again if I have another job? No, because he failed to identify the FULL scope at the beginning when he assessed the job and he wasn’t willing to keep the customer satisfied after deficiency was observed. I did finish the work that he left behind and bought couple of Poly cans from Lowe’s to fill the hole. I paid him full amount of $3,000 and got unfinished job… What a GREAT service !!

They gave us a quote but did not let us know of other potential problems (which as "concrete experts" they ought to have foreseen this issue) and we ended up being charged $1000 more for the work. And if we pay by credit card, there is a fee of 2.7%. I'm not impressed. I recognize that there are some things that you cannot control Bryan and my issue is not about the 2.7% charge for payment on credit cards, my issue is the lack of full disclosure.

These folks did a great job of resealing our 10-year-old exposed aggregate concrete (patio, sidewalk, retaining walls, raised flower beds). They power-washed the first day, and applied the sealant the following day. The scheduling was made a little chaotic with some interruption from rain, but they worked around the weather and Jack made an extra trip back the following day to inspect and put on a few finishing touches. It looks almost like new! He also took the time to answer all my questions and addressed all my concerns fully.
