★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Meeting with Sandy at Concordia Counselling was a truly awful experience. Stay far away. She was condescending and rude and talked over me the whole time. She doesn't provide an initial fifteen minute phone consultation, despite this being an industry standard. She doesn't care if you feel safe or not. I asked her about how she handles power imbalances between care provider and client, and she said she had never had one, and couldn't tell me any strategies she uses to address power imbalances. I can't emphasize enough how bad this was compared to any other counselling experience I've ever had. She also wouldn't tell me where her degree was from. Her rate per 50 minute session is well above average.
Save yourself $225 and see someone else. Anyone else.
