★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Freaking awesome! Been looking for Dutch salt licorice for years when I found this place on line. It wasn't what I was expecting yet it was so much better. Phenomenal selection, fun and funky little place with great staff. Well definitely return when I have more time. Need to get photos of this place, for sure!

Edit: the owner's response to all these negative reviews just further demonstrates they hold no remorse for their words or actions.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ used to go here with my mom when I was younger. sad to see that the owner has been using her business to actively ignore public health advice and other things of the sorts. I've also seen things about anti-trans remarks and that's quite upsetting as a previously trans customer. will not be coming back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great selection, but its not very good. Granted, it's hard to get good licorice on this continent but there are better places in Van. Plus, if you go to a different store you won't get this owner giving you her views on all the far-right madness she's into. I wanted licorice, not to get told why some people aren't Canadian enough or why you have more rights than other people. But in her defense, she didn't seem to care that I'm an Irish immigrant...
I wonder if I'll get a reply as wonderfully unhinged as some other reviewers?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The owner has been openly supportive of many quasi-fascist causes over the years and constantly ties her business to it. She does not deserve anyone’s support. Her licorice selection isn’t great anyway—as a serious Dutch licorice devotee, I wrote this place off years ago. Now she’s using her business as a platform for anti-public health messaging. This place deserves to be ruined.
PS. “All this for a sign,” she says. Actually a series of signs supporting far-right causes. Signs are powerful.
