About Collis Insurance Services Group Inc
As Independent Insurance Brokers, we shop the Insurers / MGAs for you. To start, our experienced brokers gather your business’ information, then shop various Insurers / MGAs for you. We then provide various quotes/coverage to consider to protect your business.
Depending on your time frame, we get quotes from a combination of traditional Insurers and MGAs (Managing General Agents) and Sub-brokers to get a quote from the right insurer. We choose the insurer / MGAs who is best suited to our individual clients needs. You can also rest assured that only those insurers who are licensed in Canada are used by Collis.
We are continually researching and growing insurance markets for our clients. So whether we only have one policy with these Insurers / MGAs – or 1000 – it is all about finding the price and coverage combination for your business / industry. What that means in practicality is that sometimes there are additional fees involved in using some markets, but in a lot of cases -that can still be less expensive than other insurers. It all depends on what insurer wants what type of clients…

My previous broker communicated once a year, with a renewal letter. The policy itself was never explained to me, nor did I really understand it.
At Collis, I was immediately struck by their friendly manner, and the interest they took in my business. They explained that in order to provide the best coverage they would need to understand my business better. After a lengthy, but enjoyable, meeting, they felt they had enough information to quote my policy. They had already invested more time in me than my previous broker did in 10 years!
The end result was a policy that was customized to my business needs. The premiums remained the same, but I feel that I am protected much more, and I have confidence that my new Broker knows enough about me and my business to take care of my insurance needs.

But Lisa was kind and super helpful and made sure I was taken care of. Through out the years I’ve needed adjustments to be made, I’ve had questions and she was always able to provide solutions.
Now with the online client portal I have access to all the documents I need from them from anywhere and at anytime I may need them.

It's nice to have an ally, someone attentively taking your needs to the Insurers. Things don't always go as we'd like with insurance companies, but much is out of the hands of the broker. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had to go through 2 insurance brokers for my business before I found Andrea with Collis Insurance. The first broker was a large company - they would take days to respond to inquiries and requests, had a high-turnover rate for agents and felt our account would fall through the cracks whenever the agent assigned to us would quit.
The second broker was very disorganized to the point where I was questioning whether or not I was insured properly and if they were even a legitimate company. It turned out that even after switching over to Andrea, they had withdrawn money from my account for an entire years worth of insurance that didn't exist. Andrea had supported me by speaking on my behalf after they denied taking money and helped me get my money back.
After having negative experiences with the first two I was very diligent about interviewing several brokers before making a decision. After meeting with Andrea there was no question that she was the best candidate - highly experienced, thorough, responsive and more importantly advocates her support to clients if it ever comes to making claims.
She continues to impress me when dealing with my contractors' brokers, how inexperienced and inattentive they are in comparison and is quick to find their errors. In my industry it is critical to be properly insured due to the potential liability involved. I feel she's really taken care of me and my best interests at heart. I cannot say enough good things about her and her team and would highly recommend her.
