About CognoRehab
We are a startup team and have designed an educational playground intended to teach more than 20 directional prepositions (like up, down, below under) by providing the situation enabling the children to move the partially hollow objects (ball, cube, cones, star-shaped, cylinder-shaped) across the rods while listening to the related sounds playing the name for that movement. This educational method specifically is designed to boost teaching and improve the education of students who are suffering from very low-vision disabilities.
This idea is based on cognitive behavioral therapy as well as linguistic concepts and a sense of touching in blind individuals.
Dr. Tahereh Mahmoodi Ahmad Abadi has done comparative research on sighted and blind individuals for her Ph. D. thesis and M. A. dissertation. The device is designed based on the results of the research and the experiences she had while working with blind individuals especially kids.
The prototype has been printed in 1/8 real size by 3D printing technology and AutoCAD Design.
We are supported by Manitoba Technology Accelerator a Canadian business incubator in Manitoba for our Startup Project since 2020.
