S	Sally Fergusson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Charged $170 for cancelling an after hours tow after 30-40min, driver said he got the call at the bottom of the dirt road but still drove all the way up...told we were charged an hour plus gas, seems extremely steep for no service being provided. Poor customer service when trying to get the breakdown and why it was so expensive, super disappointed and feel taken advantage of in a vulnerable moment when our car was stuck, there should definitely be a charge even with cancelling, but $170 is outrageous (especially when it’s a 20min drive to the bottom of that hill from their office)

Kept us awake and our minds occupied with great conversation the whole 4 hour ride back in the wee hours. Mark made a really bad situation much better than it could have been. Staff at the tow yard treated us extremely well. Highly recommend - you can trust these guys!

I called Coastline and they made all the arrangements and had the vehicle delivered, quickly and efficiently. Evan, the driver, made it an easy, simple procedure. T	Tanya Allen on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome service from Coastline. The ball joints on our truck broke and the wheel fell right off. Mark S and John B answered our BCAA call, and did an amazing job getting it onto a flatbed truck using a regular tow truck. They managed it without damaging the wheel well or any other part of the chassis. It took them well over an hour but they were patient and professional, and then helped us out with figuring out where to keep it overnight until the service yard was open two days later. Thank you Mark and John.

I gave the company a chance to respond before posting this and all I got was "that's the way it is and there is nothing we can do for you". "This is a tough business and you don't understand". The following are my sons notes: At 6:30pm the vehicle broke down and I called Coastline Towing, they estimated an hour wait. At 7:30 I called dispatch back and she said she'd "look into it" At 7:45 I called back again, she said the dispatch had gone to a driver "without a truck" and she had arranged a new pickup, estimated time was another 75 minutes. I got the ride home. At 9:10 I called again, dispatch said the truck was on its way. I asked if I needed to be present at pick-up, dispatch said "it shouldn't be an issue". At 9:50, dispatch called me and told me the tow truck was 5 minutes away. At 10:40, the tow truck driver called me and asked if I was on the way, which I was not as per the dispatchers' instructions. I got a ride down, arrived at 11pm, supervised the load-up and delivery, and was present for the drop-off around 11:30. The tow driver was very nice and apologetic. I hope we never need a tow truck from Campbell river again. I can live with delays but I can not deal with lack of communication or what borders on incompetence and a response from management that "this is how they do business". The only good news was the driver was very nice and professional. Sure can't say that for management.
