I took the Intensive 30 course over a period of 4 weeks in the summer of 2018 and had an absolutely wonderful time. I was used to the more traditional teaching methods common in Europe and was delighted by the conversation and interaction based curriculum at CLC. It was a confidence boosting and liberating experience! I learned a lot, had fun and made new friendships that will last me a lifetime. One thing you should bear in mind is that Montreal is a very bilingual place and the locals have a tendency to switch to English if they detect an accent. Do what I did and just stick to your guns. Explain that you need to practice your French and they will usually smile and speak French to you! I recommend the CLC for its interactive teaching methods, its professional teachers and its small number of students per class.

I studied at CLC for four weeks on the French course and had an absolutely wonderful time. In the past I've had difficulty getting on with more traditional language learning, so CLC was perfect for me as the style of teaching is very laid back, modern and informal. The teachers were all so enthusiastic and encouraging, and the atmosphere in the school is ridiculously welcoming and relaxed. Honestly, I went there with absolutely zero confidence in my French and after four weeks I feel like I've finally got a handle on this language. I couldn't be more satisfied.

Terrific school and staff. I took a one week intensive french class and really got a lot out of it. The classes are structured in a way that gives a lot of time to speaking as well as learning grammar and vocabulary. There is a nice continuity between classes so what you learn in one class, you practice in the next. I got some very good tips for how to continue my french practice outside of the class and some good tips for how to accelerate my learning path. The staff is terrific - very supportive and clear in their communication and teaching. All in all, a great experience.

I had a great experience at CLC - smart teachers that gave encouraging attention to each student, very small class sizes, a friendly, energized, and professional environment, and virtually no stress. The structure felt very well thought out - the schedule of classes was ideal for staying alert and attentive. I gained a lot of confidence over my two weeks in the French intensive 30 program, and significantly improved my oral and written French, as well as my oral comprehension - and I genuinely had fun doing so! It's nothing like the language classes I took in high school. I would definitely recommend CLC to a friend.

Avoid this school for all costs. The system is inefficient and they require time consuming placement tests even if you are a returning student after six months or you have language certificates to show. Also the fact that you cannot improve your written language skills here is a big minus. I have studied French in four different institutions and two different countries before and this is unfortunately the worst experience. Edit: To reply the comment, obviously I am not using my real name here, and no, I will not come back since there are schools that follow a language certificate teaching program both in oral and writing, not just introducing random discussions without any homework or a possibility to be prepared for the next class. Edit 2: Some of my experiences in the school and a suggestion to a language learner: - The teachers don't follow any solid method, and the discussion topics are sometimes uninteresting (e.g I had to talk about a country that I haven't lived in for 15 years, as it's my home country - well no, Canada is my home country now) - Be ready to be corrected, interrupted and talked down all the time, to the extent that you lose your motivation and start to think that what exactly I am doing here - If you really want to improve your language skills, just download any free language exchange app, talk to a friendly native speaker, organize a language exchange meetup with them and your learning experience will be much more rewarding than here.

As a South African, and someone who couldn't speak a word of French, I feel like I need to state how amazing this school is. I started with my part time classes at CLC in September 2020 as a beginner. I had to obtain a B2 (level 8) oral level for immigration in Quebec. With the help of the school and the teachers, I was able to do that within 1 year. In additon to passing my TEFAQ oral exam (the first time), I met incredible people and friends who continue my learning journey with me. CLC makes learning French fun and I never thought I would have the confidence to speak and connect with people using a completely different language.

Really great boutique language I've been using to learn French. Most of the teachers are young, professional, and fun, which gives a modern and casual feel to the learning experience that most users seem to really enjoy. They have also found their footing really well during COVID in transitioning to online learning, so I've continued using them since moving away from Montreal. Thanks again team, really means a lot.

I am so happy I chose CLC. I am currently enrolled in speak 4 french. 4 hours a week, the classes are oriented towards speaking, every day situations, for you to feel confident in your everyday activities in this beautiful french speaking city. The professors are excellent very knowledgeable and eager to help. Groups are small and that is perfect for rapid advancement. Great quality and price!
