Great place to play with the kids. That statue of sir John a MacDonald irks me though.

Great park with lots of stuff going on. Great splash pad and play structures for kids. Need more parking for busy events.

Some kid called my son "poopy", giving me an opportunity to teach my kid the difference between serious insults and funny ones. Later I lost him while playing with my phone. 10/10 would go again.

This park is okay, although nice it needs alot of work to make it what it should be. There are pathways for pedestrians and cyclists to use. However, these clearly need to be redone. There are sections that have been broken for years! This is a tripping hazard. People have fallen especially when it rains or snows. It really needs something besides asphalt because asphalt never lasts but it's a cheap option. (Asphalt splits apart because of frost-- most people know this I realize, and there are areas where it is completely damaged and broken). There is an area where a memorial/fountain is located for those that have passed away, near West Street. There are benches very close by for people to enjoy. However, this is an area which also needs work. (Patio/paving bricks, some with the names of those people who have passed away are moving and some seem to have raised abit. (People may remember this area from years ago when a person/persons stole the bronze statue with the children jumping over one another and the "Hictoric Sign --Blue Sign. Luckily they were later found). Where the Sir John A.MacDonald Statue was removed is still in dire straights. Having taken the "Trolley Tours" everyone on this tour said how ugly and unkept this box is. When they did a survey in the park I suggested flowers native to the province should be planted and intermixed with flowers/plants that have significance to the Indigous people.Nothing has been done still. I realize Covid was a factor in the delay but it has been left alittle too long, even with Covid. Maybe there maybe volunteers to help with planting and making the cement box more attractive. But as always the City Government (Council) never listen and have let the people of Kingston know that they don't listen. The citizens can fill out surveys and give feedback but that is it. The council never return phone calls or emails. (If and when they do it's rare).Never is the public allowed to hear (Google meets, or whatever social media you use) or go to these meetings just to even hear what goes on. My question here is why ask people through Google or any other media about feedback/reviews when the council have no interest in being part of any solution. It is a shame that the council only want the suggestion of a review, they never want to provide tangible evidence they are listening. The parks in this city all need some love and the council should no longer ignore the broken benches, broken asphalt trails, the heaving interlocking stones etc. It's one thing to build new structures and create new spaces but is quite another when they are not maintained. The parks in this city should present better than they currently do. Maybe Council should actually let the citizens know they care by responding, returning texts, emails and phone calls. The garbage in these parks and city streets is quite appalling aswell. Kingston needs to clean up the parks and the city. Actions speak louder than words. The council likes the sound of its own voice but lacks the ability to do what they should, (you know the right thing)
