INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Childsplace Learning Centres Ltd! Thank you for choosing us for your child's first introduction to learning!

We are licensed by Calgary and Area Child and Family Services and monitored on a regular basis to ensure we are running in compliance.

PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY AND GOALS

At Childsplace, we offer an environment where each child's well-being, independence and eagerness to learn and experience new things is fostered. Through a practice of relationships, we strive to develop confident children who experience positive, caring and respectful relationships with peers and educators.
Our program is guided by Flight-Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework. As Early Childhood professionals we recognize the importance for children to learn through the environment, revisiting experiences and developing their awareness of their individual abilities. We use learning stories as a reflection tool to document children's dispositions to learn within daily experiences.

We work towards ensuring that children are developing a strong sense of self and that they see themselves as a learner each and every day. We want the children to be confident and involved learners and feel connected to the world around them. We work with the children to build effective communicators and to help them understand and develop a strong sense of well-being.
At Childsplace, the children are appreciated for their diversity, their challenges, their successes and their tremendous potential. Our image of the child as a strong and mighty learner and citizen is reinforced throughout the day as we interact with the children. The children are strong, capable and resourceful and as we co-learn, co-construct and co-imagine, we open up so many possibilities for the children and ourselves.

Children are made aware of safety, hygiene as well as caring for their self and others. They participate in the decision process within the centre. Our routine is flexible to meet the children's needs. We ensure that the children have time for quiet and loud play, nutrition, and exploration (inside and outside).
Childsplace is purposefully designed to flow with the children, allowing the children to flow and inquiry about their play experience. Natural elements are brought indoors for the children and we provide organized play spaces that allow for stories to develop throughout their play experience.
Preschool age children are learning and supported every day to build skills that will assist them when they enter school. We work on fine motor skills daily and encourage language through reading, printing and pictures.
School age children are provided with plenty of opportunities to learn and explore based on their age and development. We believe in offering them these experiences, they are using their current knowledge from school and teaching others in the centre.
