★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My kids attend the program for a couple years and loved it. The teachers are caring, attentive and my kids felt safe and happy there. They still talk highly about the teachers and friends they made during their time at CDO.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The teachers are great, but this parent-run playschool has lost its community feel. When I attended the September AGM in 2021, the volunteer president was very rude/abrasive and cut everyone off in the interest of time even when parents had questions during the virtual AGM.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great pre-school program! Thoughtful lesson plans by genuine and wonderful teachers. You can choose up to three days a week, so it’s a great transition to kindergarten. We started at one day a week for a couple of years and then two days a week in the final year. We will miss the program and the teachers!

We love hearing about and seeing everything our son has done at school! My son looks forward to every day at CDO, and we can't wait to send our daughter when she's old enough!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My kids have both loved CDO! What I love about it is that it is one of the only full day preschools in Edmonton. No dropping of my 3 year old for a 2 hour program just to turn around and drive right back for pickup. CDO runs from 9am-3pm! They go outside every day, and they do tons of large motor activities and arts and crafts throughout the day. Both of my kids have gone together this year which I also really like. The teachers are great and the program is positive and inclusive.
CDO is by far the most cost effective option too. With the new government subsidy the cost of sending kids 2 days a week is under $100/child a month!!
The volunteer portion and fundraising requirement are a little annoying, but I like that these keep the cost down for families. We paid out of the volunteer commitment this year as it worked better for our family.
The facility is older and I wish they did more music in the program, but those are minor complaints. My kids are always excited to go in the morning and happy at the end of the day. You can’t beat that! Highly recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The quality of the preschool really depends on who is running on the parent board. The teachers are great! My youngest misses Miss Ziniira the most.
I felt very welcomed when I was new to the program. However, as the years progressed, it became very toxic to be volunteering for the parent board. I was never recognized for my efforts; other parent board members who left the program were White and I am Chinese. I felt discriminated against. I helped the school save more than $120 in bank fees a year by getting them to change their bank account types. This school is great if you have a great support system and if you have retired parents who can help. This preschool is not very inclusive or welcoming towards busy working parents with little to no support system. I have since found a better preschool with less volunteering requirements — and more importantly, no casino volunteering.
