Took my wife and kids along with my friend's family for dog sledding in Dec. 2012. Had a blast !! The location is very close to Quebec City, the people super friendly. The ambiance relaxed, beautiful and natural. The snow was deep and soft. The trails were wonderful. You get to drive your own sled. The prices were reasonable, and included snow sowing and a small tubing hill. Overall, I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Quebec in the winter months.

The dogs seemed very happy and well taken care of. Dog sledding was very fun and the tour guide Stephanie was great. The overnight is well worth the extra price as the sledding was actually very tiring. We stayed in the Yurt it had a pull out bed, dining table, and food. The Yurt came with lots of fire wood for the wood stove and was very warm at -30. You are allowed to walk around where the dogs rest pet them. Most if not all I encountered were friendly eager for attention. The dog sledding was very easy to learn and the tour was great, but can get cold so dress warm.

Amazing experience, dog sledding, playing with the puppies and snowshoeing! Dress warmly though, it does get cold out on the trails. Complimentary hot chocolate was also a nice touch after sledding. Highly recommend!!

I went there thinking this will be the highlight of my Quebec holiday but instead it was such an upsetting experience! I spent most my day there as I planned to do snowshoeing before the dog sledding. The snowshoeing trail was very short so I spent most my time observing the dogs. The dogs are not cared for the way I expected. Between the activities the dogs remain in their harnesses with no running water or food. Even in the kennels there are no running water! All water were frozen. When I questioned it they indicated the dogs eat the snow, no need for water. I just spoke to another company and they said the exact opposite. They don't want their dogs to eat snow as it makes them cold. Between trips some dogs were lying on the snow shivering of the cold, tied up, waiting for the next excursion to start. In one team I had, 2 dogs were limping but according to the guide they look fine when they stand still so must be just the harness pulling them. Apparently a badly fitted harness is not a concern to them. Dogs also constantly got tangled which resulted in dogs biting each other and getting injured by the harnesses. Then last but not least, there were only 2 puppies for people to look at, either before or after sledding. Since there are so many trips going out, these poor puppies are constantly moving from arm to arm for photos. There were no controls in place to ensure that they get time to eat, drink, pee and sleep. Control over sledding kennels in Quebec are clearly not that great, so PLEASE do thorough research before selecting a kennel. From what i have now learned running water and control over times you can visit puppies will be a great start!
