Cheadles is one of the oldest, yet progressive, law firms in Thunder Bay and northern Ontario. It has the distinction of being able to trace its history to 1952 when David Stanley Cheadle began as a sole practitioner in what was then Fort William, Ontario.
Since 1952, Cheadles has evolved with the ever-changing legal landscape in Canada. But one thing has always remained the same since the day we opened: our client-first approach.

When a bank error late on a Friday afternoon threatened to delay our taking possession of our new house until after the weekend the staff at Cheadles went above and beyond to help make it right. This included one staff member running barefoot across the parking lot and Balmoral avenue (in 30+ degree weather!) to get the necessary documentation submitted before the 5pm deadline. If you're looking for a firm that will provide a unmatched level of expertise and customer service to handle your real estate needs then Cheadles is definitely the place to go!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ How long does it take to perform a conflict check? Day 8 now and still no return calls. A conflict check takes about 2 to 3 minutes at most law firms we have dealt with. That includes Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, Panama, EU, and Dubai. Apparently in Canada this is a long drawn our process that could take weeks or even months if your dealing with this lot..... Called another firm and they performed a conflict check in 45 seconds on the phone. Good luck with Cheadles...... clearly they need to fire that person who is never at their desk or calls people back after several phone calls.

And as a person who is not well versed in law jargon, they explained everything very thoroughly and helped explain every question I had throughout the process. I would definitely recommend this law firm.
