About Chaeban Ice Cream
As a second-generation dairy scientist, Joseph has a wealth of knowledge in the dairy industry. He wanted to give back to the community as a way of saying “thank-you” for sponsoring his wife’s family and safely bringing them from the Middle East to call Winnipeg home. Further, he wanted to find a way to support his family by providing employment when they arrived in Winnipeg. So, together with his wife and their third business partner, Darryl Stewart, the plans for Winnipeg’s first super-premium, made-from-scratch hard ice cream shop were put into motion. In March 2017, Chaeban Ice Cream began its small beginnings. Leases were signed, contractors were hired, and recipes began to be developed.
In true Winnipeg fashion, Chaeban Ice Cream opened its doors on the first day of winter in December 2017. Today, Chaeban Ice Cream thrives with Winnipeg’s resounding support and love of ice cream (in all seasons). Their ice cream can also be found in grocery stores across Manitoba.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife got the Reece Piece and said: “I’ve never tasted anything so peanut buttery that wasn’t a spoonful of peanut butter”. I got Anna Bananutella, and it tasted like the best chocolate chip banana bread I’ve ever had. We also tried the Abir Al Sham, a traditional Syrian ice cream that was incredibly creamy and chewy, loaded with pistachios and tasted like pure rose water. The Abir Al Sham was unique and worth experiencing, a destination flavour on its own. We went to their actual shop on Osborne, but they also sell their ice creams in jars at grocery stores around Winning and Manitoba. Wish they also sold it here in Toronto!

Just couple minutes ago, went there to try some ice cream and it was amazing and the lady with hijab ? is so welcome, happy to serve and very grateful. Trust me anytime I want ice creams I’ll come to this place. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR YOU give it a shot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love Chaeban. Their ice cream is top notch, always friendly and super inclusive. They have flights so you can check out multiple flavours in one go. Their red velvet features is one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had. Love that they host events and are community oriented. Highly recommend you stop in and check them out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can't eat the ice cream here because I'm allergic to both dairy and nuts, but my mom absolutely loves this place. Whenever I'm in the area (let's be honest, I'm usually here to shop at Game Knight), my mom tags along on purpose so that I can take her to Chaeban. She usually gets the Glen Coconut, but they have a lot of other dairy free and vegan options, even down to the cone. Some flavors are only available as a pint, which means one can't get it in a cone, only in a cup. This doesn't really make sense to me and I think customers should be given the option, especially since Chaeban's waffle cones are homemade. Either way, my mom loves this place over any other ice cream place in the city, so I guess these folks get 5 stars from me. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can't rave about this place enough. The ice cream is honestly out of this world. The flavours are unlike any in Ontario, the ingredients are fresh and locally-sourced and the prices are SO reasonable! I highly HIGHLY recommend the Mona Mamoul!
We had some of everything and were lucky enough to get a cappuccino as the owner was testing out their new machine. Fabulous stuff!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ WOW! What a Winnipeg gem. The ice cream is prefect. Super creamy and not too sweet. Overly sweet ice cream is sickening and the ratio to sweet and creamy in their flavors is perfect! We have tried many flavors and like them all. I typically buy them from Vita Health as they will take the jars back at the store directly and give you a $1 refund on your next jar or just a refund altogether if you aren't buying anymore ice cream.
