I don’t like making comments about people or organizations that can negatively affect their job attachment or ability to provide for their family… but in good conscience I have to share my experience in hopes that it deters you from this brokerage. I ‘hired’ Steve Onsorge from this brokerage to help me find a home in Vernon, and the experience was not only exhaustive and stressful, I literally had to do my realtors job for him to close the deal on the house I eventually did purchase. On the first accepted offer, he didn’t disclose that the home I made an offer on was actually owned by a colleague of his in the same office, who is also a realtor, who hid their identity behind an incorporation. This was revealed to me AFTER my offer was accepted. Then I had to fight with my realtor to get a property inspection added as a condition/subject . After which I got the subject added and an inspection was done the house didn’t have a foundation, it was sitting on blocks. I should have chosen another agent then, but due to a job transfer with a firm date I needed to find a place. I eventually made another offer which was accepted, it was also accepted 20k under asking in this insane market. After I had removed all my subjects I asked for my realtor to remove my subjects and I got ghosted, when he did reply he said he can’t remove them, and that I just don’t understand. This was the final day for subject removal and my realtor refused to remove subjects. I didn’t want to lose my house so I took it upon myself to contact the seller agent directly and told him I’m the buyer and that I’m confirming subject removal with a cheque deposit im hand. The seller agent told me that Steve literally just called him 5 minutes prior and told him we can’t remove the subjects today so they should go to their back up offer. The seller agent accepted my removal and we signed the papers together, without my realtor. I contacted the owner of this brokerage and explained the above to him and he said he would call me back but nothing. This is not only unethical and illegal and ignores all fiduciary responsibilities but it’s abhorrent behaviour in an already difficult and morally compromised market.
