Centra Cam Vocational Training Assn - Camrose

1974
Three ladies met to discuss methods in assisting Camrose and area citizens with disabilities to reach their full potential and to provide a secure rewarding work environment where individual effort is recognized.
1979
Centra Cam Cleaning Association was incorporated as a non profit society.
1981
The name changed to Centra Cam Vocational Training Association. It was at this time Centra Cam started accepting clients.
1983
Until this time, Centra Cam operated out of rented facilities. June 9, 1983 the doors were opened to a new facility that was made possible through the generosity of the community and service groups of Camrose and surrounding area.
Early 1990's
Services changed from sheltered workshop approach to a community focus.
1993
Through a partnership with the City of Camrose and Alberta Environmental Action on Waste Program, the Recycle with Centra Cam Depot was built.  Expansion of Recycling Depot 2008
1995
To provide better access for clients, Camrose Employment Services was  moved downtown.
1996
With changes to the client services, came changes to Centra Cam’s production areas. The commercial laundry discontinued March 1996.
1996
Centra Cam expanded it’s programs to include the Emergency Clothing and Furniture Depot (ECFD).
2005
Centra Cam Custom Projects moved to a new facility August 2005 and Camrose Employment Services moved back to main facility .
2006
July 4, 2006 Centra Cam opened the doors of it’s new Outlet Store where nonessential donations made to ECFD are sold to help pay for the costs of providing this community service.
2009
Through donations, grants and the hard work of clients, staff, board members and volunteers the main facility was renovated.
