It serves as a school for single parents from what I understand. The building has always been a school & its nice that they never tore it down. Its been around for a very long time.

Cecil Rodes, I commend this school, especially the Off Campus at Norte Dame. We moved to the area and my girls were having difficulty adjusting or adapting, one went to Tec Voc when the younger one couldn't follow, she was going through a lot, she was bullied at a elementary at St. James area, she didn't relate, afraid, finally she started talking to the this wonderful guidance, I am forever grateful to Cecil Rodes school, how they helped her to make her she's important, especially with Off Campus, I'm so grateful for them, thank you so very much for helping my daughter, now she's in Tec Voc, thriving well. Thank you, thank you so very much from the bottom of heart, Ekosi!!

I thought they named schools after heros or trailblazers in history. So why do we have a school named after a man who killed more than 60 million africans? They might as well have named it Hitler Academy. This school system here obviously does not know their history! Interesting is how society is so sensitive to anti-semitism, but so relaxed on the african genocide that has transpire throughout history. SHAME.

I went to Cecil Rhodes school from grade 2 (2008) all the way to grade 9 graduation (in 2016). I still remember the school wide celebration in 2009 for Cecil Rhodes School's 100th birthday where each grade learned a dance and performed it during an assembly. I hold many sweet memories as a child here learning and growing into the person I am today. My teachers loved their jobs and I developed a love of learning with the way they taught. As a student of colour, I had not once gave the name of my school any thought. No one from nursery to grade 9 knew who "Cecil Rhodes" was. We considered it as just the name of our school just like other school names "Sargent Park" or "Isaac Brock" or "Wolseley school". My precious memories that took place in my beloved elementary school Cecil Rhodes School would not be the same if the name was changed. I think resources and money used to change the school's name would be much wiser and better spent investing in technology, educational supplies, and resources for the students in the school.

I went to this school in the 90’s didn’t know much English back then but after I left English was pretty much my native tongue. Very good memories and teachers still have my student pictures from those days…
