Cathedral Social Hall

I've not had much luck here as far as service goes. The last time I was here, I waited over 30 minutes to be served, the people we were with 30 more than that, the time prior waited 20 minutes to get our bill after requesting it. The food is quite alright, and I quite enjoy the fries. The beer selection is good. I continue giving it “one more chance,” so I suppose it must be okay.

I will start by saying I’ve had good experiences at social hall in the past, but this horrible experience on Saturday, Dec 11 will forever erase anything good I’ve ever seen at this restaurant. We came into social hall for lunch, we had an appointment at 1:30 a short distance away but had well over an hour to eat. At the time they had a couple of tables and two large parties in the middle. We quickly ordered our drinks, a pizza and salad for three of us to share. After waiting for over 50 minutes we flagged our waitress down to ask if our food would be coming as we had to leave soon for an appointment. The waitress (who never apologized) said it would still be awhile as there were several large orders ahead of us still. We said in that case we would need to cancel our order and we’ll pay for our drinks as we have to leave or we’ll be late. To our confusion the waitress rolls her eyes and storms off. She comes back to argue that the pizza will be ready soon and she can box it for us to go. We again explained we had an appointment and we needed to leave now and we could not wait any longer. She comes back again, slams the debit machine down, rolls her eyes again. We say nothing, pay and she storms off. We did not tip her on the 3 drinks based on how poorly her attitude turned. As we exit the restaurant our waitress says to us, “you can go f*** yourself” I’m not kidding when I say I’ve never been so shocked in my life. We weren’t rude to her at any point in the time we were there, if anything we were stunned at how angry she got at the table so quickly. We asked to speak to a manager, tried to explain what happened. Again zero apology. He tells us that they’re really busy and next time plan to have more time to eat. If you’ve made it this far, cheers to you. I hope the owner reads this and does some serious work on correcting what good customer service looks like with their staff.

Super friendly staff, very helpful and warm hearted! The flights I had were good! My favorite was the Peach Sour by Granville. The selection of beers is quite good! The overall vibe is modern and chill, loved it! They have a patio that is nice and large! The food was okay, I wouldn’t recommend the poke but I came here for the drinks and vibe.

This is a very popular spot. With the music and all the people packing the place it was pretty loud. The food was delicious, full of flavour and made with high quality ingredients. Very trendy menu. Outstanding service.

We received a gift card for Christmas so we decided to go out for a date night. On our way I looked up the address and seen some negative reviews. We were a bit worried about how the experience was going to be. However it was nothing like any of the negative reviews implied. The service was good it takes a lot to wow me but the server was nice and answered all our questions and kept the drinks coming. The food was DELICIOUS! I really struggled to find food I like on menus and usually go with the typical chicken fingers but the Notorious P.I.G. blew my mind with how amazing it was. I HAD to finish every bite there was no taking it home. I highly recommend the Cathedral social hall.

Great food. Friendly staff. Comfortable atmosphere. Went for lunch with my partner and friends and we had such a nice time. Our server was super sweet and very attentive and not overly pushy. She was knowledgeable about the menu as well. The dining area had lots of beautiful natural lighting too.

I will not be returning here again. I was out with the group of people. It took about 1hr and 30mins to get our order. And received a burned pizza. The waitress did not even come once to check on our table. The excuse was we were busy. She walked by several times by our table and nothing. Took them about over 30 mins to stop by. It just ruined the whole experience.

Service was poor and slow. Restaurant wasn’t busy but our food took almost an hour to get to our table. The folks seated near us left and their table was left dirty for the remainder of our stay(over an hour) Beautiful scenery! My favourite thing to look at is other peoples dirty dishes. Who knows how long they left our table after we left. Food was mediocre at best. Room temp. Raw eggs (pictured).
