Carrington Dental Centre

We moved to West Kelowna 19 years ago and thankfully found Dr. Gary Powell as our dentist. He has been excellent...in his old building, and in his Carrington location. Our family has never had a negative experience and have appreciated having a dentist/hygienist/front end staff that are professional, considerate and very detail-oriented. Our experience with Carrington Dental has been nothing but positive Please don't retire early Gary!

Had one of the worst dental experiences at this clinic. Was my first time at the dentist in a while as I recently moved to Kelowna area. So I wanted to have a cleaning done as it’s been a while. Was quoted between 350-500 max to clean my teeth and do the initial first visit X-rays. Dental assistant and the front desk both told me that since I haven’t been in for a while that my cleaning would be on high end so prepare to pay 500. Which I was prepared to pay. So went in couple days later to have my cleaning appointment the hygienist checked my teeth, did pictures, X-rays etc took her over 1 hour just for that, than started cleaning my teeth and only finished 8 teeth in that 2 hour appointment, told me I’ll have to come back to finish my cleaning as we ran out of time. I went to the front desk and I told the receptionist I’m not done my cleaning I’ll have come finish another day she said ok and was like your charge for today is 455. I said how is that possible as I’m not done. And my max for cleaning and X-rays was quoted 500. The receptionist kept saying no that’s 500 for the appointment. I told her no u guys said for the cleaning and X-rays I’ll pay max 500 and I’m not done my cleaning at all so how can it be 455. She kept repeating same thing and just didn’t care that I was quoted the 500 max. She ended up getting manager to talk to me. The manager seemed nice at first telling me she will talk to her team and try to resolve the problem. Told me to pay the 455 and she will figure out a solution and call me back. She never called me back I had to call her and ask her what’s going on. She told me it’s going to be 250 more to clean rest of my teeth making it a total of 700. Said she can give me 20 percent discount on the 250. So my total would be 650. That’s much higher than the 500 quote they gave me. Definitely not impressed at all, told her to send all my X-rays to me so I can go to another clinic. She didn’t seem to care. Definitely seems like they just want there money and don’t care about what they tell there clients. Definitely would not trust this clinic and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. First off they shouldn’t take a bunch of X-rays without talking to the patient about costs, also shouldn’t be giving quotes if they don’t have a clue about costs. I will definitely be reporting this to the dental board.

I was referred to Carrington Dental office by a friend when I had decided to look for a new Dentist closer to me following the departure of my Dentists in Rutland. I was pleasantly surprised with the professionalism and care given by Dr. Powell. Then with Dr. Cutler months later to get some work. They both go out of their way to ensure the patient's comfort. The rest of the the staff including the Dental Hygienists and Receptionists are always friendly and courteous; would recommend.

Dr. Powell and staff always greet and treat our family with so much respect and comfort. My daughter had severe dental anxiety and since going to Carrington Dental, her anxiety has been completed eliminated. They are patient, take their time, genuinely care and treat us like family! We travel all the way from Lake Country to receive the care we do at Carrington!

Had some major restorative work completed at Carrington Dental. Suffered NO discomfort whatsoever over 9 months of procedures and monitoring. Dr. Gary Powell, Dr. Darren Dahlman and staff are all so pleasant, professional, and highly trained in the latest dental science techniques. They're tops when it comes to your chops. Highly recommended.

They were so quick with getting in touch with me after i reached out to find a new dentist, very impressed. there location is a convenient location that is very clean and comfortable, they’re just amazing there. if you’re looking for a dentist, highly recommend this awesome place. Hygienist cleaning was fantastic. so friendly, did a great job, left with gleaming teeth and had all of my questions and concerns answered. 10/10. Retainer fitting, they got me a new retainer so quick despite highway challenges, retainer is awesome 10/10. Wisdom removal, i was very nervous but they let me have my mum by my side until i was under. all of my concerns were addressed with proper information and they made me feel so comfortable and they had me in and out. not sure if this is luck or just how well if a job my boy darren did but my recovery is very little pain and not very sore at all. 10/10 i give them the ultimate of all gold stars and high fives

I was looking for a new dentist after having moving to West Kelowna, and sent out several emails/calls over the holidays. Carrington Dental was one of the first offices to respond, and were the quickest to get me in for a new patient visit / dental cleaning. I entered the office not knowing what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The office was super well managed, so my time actually spent waiting was no more than a few minutes on both visits which was nice. The administration also got me set up with my insurance with zero effort on my part. My dental hygienist was extremely thorough and walked me through everything she was doing. It was a relaxing experience - something I have never said about a dentist office before! I had a follow up visit a week later, and my experience with the actual dentist was as just as good, if not even better. I had to have two freezing needles, and in all honesty, I didn't even feel them - another experience I have never said about a dentist before. All around, a great practice, and I'm looking forward to coming back for my routine cleanings. Highly recommended!

I have been going to this dental clinic for a long time and I have always had a great experience every time. I just got my wisdom teeth out and I was so nervous! The whole team , receptionists, Dr. Dahlman, and the nurses were fantastic! They made it such an easy time for me and kept me calm. Every time I go they are caring, kind and always make me feel comfortable. Definitely recommend going here if you are looking for a dental clinic. They are the best!
