Carcao George Dr

28 year old male here, got my braces from these guys when I was about 10-15 years old... Did a very good job no complaints... They did leave a permanent device on my bottom set of teeth on the inside side of the teeth so it is not visible to any naked eye.

One of the worst places I've ever spent 20 minutes in. Showed up in the morning with my girlfriend who had severe teeth pain for days. As she got called into see the doctor I sat in the waiting room. About 15 minutes waiting I guess the secretaries either assumed I left or didnt see me, they started to gossip and say; "Im a doctor I would know if your teeth have moved or not" "shes just crazy it's all psychological. Her teeth havnt moved at all'. But then again the apple hasn't fallen to far from the tree", referring to my girlfriends mother. I was actually disgusted on how four secretaries sitting in the front of the office could just calmly and casually talk poorly about their patients and just refuse and neglect the seriousness of pain from the patient. Secretary is rude and has no people skills AT ALL. Just for that reason i would HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND. P.s thankfully not a patient.

I found Dr. George Carcao on google while finding an orthodontist close to my location. I called a few places and they quoted me for minimum $65 consultation fee and this clinic did not charge consultation. My retainer broke and I was looking for a replacement. I went in the following day with my retainer and ready to get a new retainer and Dr. Carcao offered to fix it for me and recommended that my original retainer will be better for now because I am used to it. Dr Carcao fixed my retainer on the spot and provided very friendly service. I asked him how much it would cost and he said don't worry about it. He is very nice and honest and I would recommend him to my friends and family.

Patient, professional, caring and understanding. Dr. Carcao is very thorough and treats every patient as an individual. He works hard to ensure every treatment is successful and takes all necessary steps for the most perfect result. Dr Carcao and his team genuinely care to give the best for their patients. The office staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful. Every aspect of treatment is fully explained. They made my unique treatment much easier for me knowing I was in good hands. I would recommend him to everyone.

Great orthodontist, very friendly staff, and explains everything well. Two of my kids go here and we found it to be convenient location near the subway and always a pleasant experience. Very well organized - always on time. There's appointment times available outside of work/school hours and sibling discount. We also tried some other places along Bloor to the west but they had packed waiting room, were late for appointment time, and overall assembly-line feel ( like cramming in patients and letting them wait to churn in the money), that we did not like. Very satisfied with Dr. Carcao and would recommend to all.

Dr. Carcao is a competent orthodontist who I believe has good intentions. However, It seems that he may not understand how deleterious certain treatment methodologies can be. Therein, my criticism is not of him as a person or as an orthodontist, but rather someone you should trust with your child’s health. Extractions of four premolars were indicated for my case. To close the space, he retracted my incisors back. This is not inherently bad. It is just that my jaws were already small, to begin with. It became harder to breathe nasally because the constriction in my upper jaw was exacerbated further by retraction. My tongue had no space in my mouth, so I would hang it open. At night, it would fall in my throat, affecting my sleep quality. I confronted him. He did not dispute what I said. Instead, he rebutted that it was natural to mouth breathe, and I should not be concerned. This is my problem. I would not expect someone who spends more than a decade familiarizing themselves with health care to use a naturalistic fallacy. If you were about to give birth, and your labour was stalled, and there was a risk that you and your baby might die if you gave birth naturally, how would you react if your ob-gyn decided not to perform a c-section because it is not natural? That being said, regardless of mouth-breathing is natural or not, nasal breathing is demonstrably better than mouth breathing. The relation between mouth-breathing, sleep disorders, and ADHD are empirical in the literature. The widespread adoption of the expression, “mouth-breather,” is consequent to the implicit cultural recognition of this fact. I have a lot more problems with Dr. Carcao but I am trying to keep this short. Do not be dismayed by my review, you might be the perfect candidate for Dr. Carcao as there is a lot of variability in treatment plans and I may just be an outlier. But I plead that you consult many orthodontists and see what they see.
