My family and I stumbled across this husband-and-wife-run establishment by chance while in town running errands today and it completely turned our day around! Easy going and relaxed vibe and all of us (the kids included) absolutley loved the food! Amazing soups and house made breads. Definitely going back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful cafe with homemade European Cakes and food. The hot meals are delicious and as the Owners are from Switzerland, the food is typical Swiss. The coffee is top notch and they cater for little ones.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Discovering this gem on 5th Street was a surprise. A friendly husband and wife team run the business. My favourites cinnamon danish, homemade soups, European cakes. This restaurant in my opinion deserves five stars. Try it for yourself. I saw one comment that said, 'expensive'. Hmmm. I do not think so..I would say if you want the best ingredients at a modest price try this restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They supplied one of our wedding cakes and it was delicious! My husband and I fell in love with the fresh pizza, soup, and specialty coffee. This is a very special little shop and we can't wait to come visit again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ How can you not love a cafe that has great coffee, great food, and great deserts? Owners are super nice. Even had the right sized fork for sharing one of their scrumptious deserts with my better half ;>)
Feb 2021, and we continue to be impressed. Did I mentioned the cafe's homemade pizza? Well, you just better stop by and try it (or call ahead). YUM!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Made it to Comox/Courtney. Walked into this place around 13:00 on Monday. Proprietor was grouchy about letting us use the washroom before ordering. We sat down to discuss lunch or a snack, and the middle aged proprietor called out for us to order. I said we needed a minute. No go. Order something right now. I said we would find somewhere else. She said, "that's right leave. Go somewhere else." Aggressive, strange woman. I guess I'm a street person now. The food looked acceptable but, I certainly don't need to find out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food and the service here were fantastic. The schnitzel and potato salad were sold out (get there early!) but the fresh, tasty croissant sandwiches and Gulache soup more than made up for it.
The owner (whose name I neglected to get) was so warm and welcoming. Just wonderful. This is a must try in downtown Courtenay.
