About CanWest Sport Science & Performance Centre
Stan has a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Trinity Western University, master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Briercrest Seminary and has completed doctoral studies in the field of leadership at the University of San Diego. For 25 years he coached college and university level basketball. While at Briercrest, he was awarded numerous PAC and ACAC coach of the year awards, and the 1993 CCAA Men’s Basketball Coaching Excellence Award. In 2003, he was named Canada West Coach of the Year and Basketball BC University Coach of the Year while at Trinity Western University. In 2014, he was inducted into the ACAC Hall of Fame for coaching.
He has also worked with a team over the past seven years to develop HumbleStrong Inc., a leadership and character formation model used within Prairie Hockey Academy.
He is currently the Athletics Director at Briercrest College. The goal of Briercrest Athletics is to use the pursuit of athletic championships in our unique Briercrest training ground, to grow disciples of Jesus, form transformational leaders of character, inspire graduates, and develop skills for sport and life. Briercrest is thrilled to partner in the CanWest Sports and Performance Center. Working to develop holistic education and experiences that will allow each person to grow and develop to maximize the potential they were created to use in service of others.
