I	Indracus on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I used to love going there and the activities they have there are plentiful and fun but mine and others experiences with the day staff have not been favorable. The evening drop-in staff are absolutely amazing though.

"The Cam H of brampton". When you find yourself reffered here do yourself a favor and ask yourself "Do I want to be marginalized and exploited by an agency that reinforces the stigma of mental illness, and is only successful in creating easy comfortable well paying jobs for people whom chose this career with fake sympathy or ignorance?".
S	S Dunn on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ CMHA Peel does not listen to their clients. They decide themselves what the client needs. They do not take notes, resulting in the client having to repeat themselves and justify themselves repeatedly. CMHA Peel knows absolutely nothing about certain mental health conditions. If a client displays a symptom of their condition they are made to feel bad because the CMHA worker has absolutely no clue about the condition. CMHA Peel gives referrals to services that are not even being offered anymore, and to online services that result in abuse of the client. Michelle Lewis of CMHA Peel showed up late for every single meeting, and was a no show at times without notification. She literally smiled upon declining services. Very, very pathetic mental health organization.
D	Demos Theodorakakis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Recovery West is a good concept and I helped many peers, however the program needs a new perspective and focus. This pandemic which has caused insurmountable damage is more reason for peer support networks.

He advised me that his mental health nurse would drive him to various locations ( to get groceries/gym) when he did not have anything to discuss with her. I’m unsure if that is allowed and would like to get a response back from someone in this organization. At one point she mentioned that he does not require her assistance compared to her other clients who have more severe mental illnesses but also it’s seems that she provokes him as she will continuously discuss the same stressful topics with him, which in return adds stress to my friends mental health because he begins to worry when he was doing fine. If you’re suppose to be someone’s mental health worker you are suppose to be healing them Mentally to improve their mood, mentality, emotions not make it worse.

We were at their door today asking for help (this is after calling them multiple times, filling out online forms and not hearing back) and they refused to open the door. Someone dealing with an actual mental Health issue like schizophrenia is already unwilling to seek help, and if they ever try…. It usually ends with nothing.

My long years of service is also a result of the values and principles the organization operates on. CMHA is a person centered recovery focused organization that cares about clients, families, staff and the community it serves. On a perosnal note I would recommend CMHA Peel Dufferin to my family and friends.
R	R Cheema on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Crisis team is definitely not for a “crisis” if they need mentally ill patient’s consent to provide help. If the patient was mentally stable then they would go seek help themselves so this service defeats its purpose. I don’t think there is a need for a service like this as it’s totally useless.
