Got myself in some trouble in the year 2000. They process my waiver so you don't have to .

Over the last 4 or more years we stuck with 'Canada welcomes you' while me and my partner tried to get permanent residency status. They problem with Carolyn Mahon (company owner and immigration consultant) is that she seems to take on too many clients and ends up unable to perform quality work. Many times we showed up and she had no clue what she was doing and needed me to explain what we were there for. Calls rarely get answered (used to be a running joke) and emails rarely as well, towards the end I used to have to drive down there and insist on a meeting, there were always people going in and out and it is clearly too much workload for her. We estimate $15.000 or more wasted with this company, in the end we were forced to leave. We got a second opinion from two other lawyers before we left in a desperate attempt to find a way to stay and after looking over her work and all our documents/applications they both told us she had done so many things wrong that it had basically screwed our chances. Forget consultants, go for a real immigration lawyer, they're more expensive in the short term but you will get turned upside-down and shaken by 'Canada welcomes you' and in the end kicked out the country. Avoid them like the plague.

Absolutely Horrible! I have been trying to sponsor my wife and she has been trying for a permanent residence. Carolyn from day one screwed around with us. First off, phone calls are a joke as Carolyn Mahon never calls you back, E-mails are the same, and when she does respond to a e-mail - it's like she never read what you wrote or responds with a completely different subject. Everytime we went in her office she was running around getting our information together or finishing up something that should have been done - or my personal favourite - going over what we went over the LAST time we were there! My wife and I paid for a number of visitor extensions and Carolyn wrote receipts for them, but turns out 3 1/2 years later my wife was illegally here. Worst part was she had to go back to her country. When my wife called Carolyn for a attempt to stay here - Carolyn encouraged my wife to lie to a border officer - also the papers she sent her back with were with incorrect dates! Which for Carolyn, happens all the time - one time she wrote down that my wife was living here for a year and a half instead of three. When my wife came back to Canada a while later the border officers looked at all the information and proof my wife brought to show she has been trying to stay here - they told her that it sounds as if its a case of FRAUD !! They even made jokes at the border of the unprofessional receipts she gave my wife - as they thought she wrote them herself since anyone can get them from the dollar store. While my wife was away, Carolyn was supposed to be working with her on her Application for sponsorship , and myself - neither one of us heard from her for a week and a half since she promised to "start immediately". When my wife did get a e-mail from Carolyn it was telling her that carolyn's assistant will be handling her from now on Before my wife left, Carolyn had her sign a contract, I had not signed it yet and since I hadn't she kept me out of the loop of what was going on and failed to send me anything to fill out, or ask for information. she actually held off on things that NEEDED to get done. Also the application that was purchased - Carolyn messed up and now we have to buy another one, even though the one we have is still valid (or so carolyn said). Which was another thing - My wife and I had a letter typed up of us ending all business and ties with Caanada Welcomes You and carolyn Mahon. Carolyn told my wife she had to buy a new Sponsor application as the one she had was no longer Valid, but when my wife handed her the letter stating either she gets a refund or a vaild application Carolyn told her it was always Valid and made my wife sound like a liar. Also that same visit my wife also typed up asking for proof of where the money went for all the visitor extensions, and other things we have paid - Carolyn and her assistant refused to sign and even talk about any of it. My wife tried going to other immigration lawyers/consultants - what Carolyn did - no one would touch her. If you want Honest, dependable, helpful, immigration advice - DON'T GO HERE! Please take your time, money, and go somewhere else that is much better. Carolyn's business Canada Welcomes You is a absolute joke.

I have applied for my spouse's work permit and later we did apply for our permanant residency. I have not met her once over the course of these processes. Everything is easy and well designed to be completed by email itself. Yes its difficult to reach her on phone but she replies to her client as swift as possible.

I have worked with Canada Welcomes You for a few times through the years. Whit their significant assistance especially Mis Estera Falger, I was able to bring some of my family members and friends to Canada. They are very professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. If you need any help with all your emigration needs I would highly recommend them.

Carolyn knows her stuff and suggests only the best steps forward. I had come from South Africa on a Study permit then on to a Post Grad work permit to which Carolyn subsequently helped me successfully to my Permanent Residency. She can be hard to contact as she is very secretive of her number (which I kind of understand, no one wants a person calling every 5 minutes), although she was mostly good with email. In the end she offered a good service which helped me to my PR so for that, her guidance was invaluable. She also offered me a great rate and even allowed me to pay in 6 part payments. In the end you will probably never meet her and she mostly tells you what to do and even though there is a checklist there are questions amongst all that which is really where she comes in handy. For me it was the peace of mind and informed instructions that got me my PR.

Our experience with Canada Welcomes You was exactly what we were looking for. Our first time there we had a free consultation with Carolyn who heard our story and evaluated our case and told us what she felt our options where. My partner and I decided to sign up with Canada Welcomes You and we signed a contract for help in obtaining permanent residency for myself to stay in Canada. We had regular meetings with Carolyns assistant who we were assigned to from the beginning and she was absolutely fantastic with us and always kept things simple and in check so we could easily follow what was going on and what was needed of us, why and when by. We were able to make a payment plan that was affordable to us and the whole process was taken care of for us, with us only having to attend meetings, provide info and keep making our payments. We started off with keeping my visitor visas valid. Then they helped me obtain a work permit. After aprox 1 and a half years of working with Canada Welcomes You I am now a fully legal and certified Canadian Resident. We couldn't have done it without them, as during the process they caught several changes in the application system that happened along the way that we certainly never thought of or would have missed which would have tanked our application. They made stressful and overwhelming work easy.
