Rich Joy
Director of Malting and Technical Services
Rich has a Ph.D. in Developmental Plant Physiology and Biotechnology as well as a B.Sc. in Biology (CMMBi) from the University of Calgary. Rich held postdoctoral fellowship positions with the University of Calgary and the University of Tohoku in Japan and was employed as a Research Associate with the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada.
Following his time with the NRC, Rich began an extensive career in the malting industry with Rahr Malting, where he eventually became Vice-President of Operations and Technical Director. Rich joined Canada Malting in 2013. As Director of Malting and Technical Services, he oversees quality, technical services, food safety and our North America labs. Rich is based in Calgary.
