★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The boat is decent and the guide seemed capable - I'm sure he has many happy customers. Unfortunately we ended up with a negative surprise at the end because of some miscommunication. We initially requested a 4-hour trip but there's a 5-day hour minimum charge, which we agreed to, but then ended up being charged for 6-hours. We also had 4 adults and a 4 year old and this meant being charged the 5-person guest rate of $145. We should have asked beforehand about the cost of bring along our 4-year old grandchild - so many businesses waive fees for kids that we didn't see that one coming. In the end, we expected a $675 day that ended up being a $870 day. The cost-surprise would have been less of a downer if it hadn't been rainy, windy and cold and if the fishing been better - we caught a pink and a spring, which is likely why we ended up staying out there for 6 hours instead of 5. We're not rookies - we've done at least a dozen guided fishing trips from Vancouver Island ports and many more in other places. We've never run into a shortage of guides or places to go.
