Camp Woods is a overnight outdoor summer camp located on the shores of Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Run by Scouts Canada, the kids summer camp is available to non-members as well as Scouts.

It’s a place where you can sail for hours without hitting the same current, where deer and fox linger in the pines, where canoes and campfires tell you the time of day. Here on the shores of Sylvan Lake at Camp Woods, we know how to do the true camp experience.
For nearly 100 years, Scouts have been coming to Camp Woods to further their outdoor skills and leadership, kickoff wonderful friendships and become lifelong outdoor enthusiasts. Now, through our new overnight summer camps, we are thrilled to give non-Scouts and Scouts alike the chance to experience Camp Woods.
In addition to camp favourites such as archery, star hikes and fire lighting, our summer camp for kids lets you cruise Sylvan Lake on a Laser One sailboat or climb to the top of our 35-foot Aspire Challenge Tower.
Summer camp, the perfect destination for kids to learn new skills, make new friends and grow from the experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Camp Woods is a fantastic Scout Camp. It has many things for your colony, pack, troop, etc. to do including Archery, climbing wall, sailing, and canoing to name a few activities. The cabins and halls are in good repair and reasonably priced.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have been here twice with Scouts. Fab location. Lots of space. Excellent activities for the youth. A major negative is no running water for sanitation at the campsite which poses a health concern for large groups of young kids using the vault toilet in proximity to the mess hall. Alcohol sanitizer gels are ineffective for the common pathogens that cause diarrhoea and vomiting. Kids must take a 5 minute walk to a bathroom block to wash their hands.
Camp Woods is otherwise a great place for small groups OR for larger groups that are able to organise satisfactory sanitation at their campsite/mess hall.
