β β β β β During my time with 10th Coquitlam Scouts as a Beaver Leader, Cub Leader Scout Leader and President of the group, we spend every year in the spring at Camp Byng and staged our ceremonies to advance the boys to the next level of scouting. Many great memories of the camp for so many who were able to use the facilities and its wonderful nature setting.

β β β β β This place has a special history that I hope future generations can appreciate.
I first explored this place,m not as a scout (I was a LOT of things, but never a boy scout) camping as a student in the 70's and found it to be a special place, filled with history and personal growth.
When Elphinstone Secondary burned, a bunch of us in grade 3 and 4 got sent here to free space up for high schoolers. We learned the routine stuff, but the special treat was elders from the Sechelt Nation coming by and giving us a more rounded understanding.
A young Jamie Dixon took us out to go visit old Indian villages, plus a bit of other history like trees that were culturally modified by harvesting out planks for longhouses.
Then there was Maxwell Hammersmith, a long time caretaker and his various Great Danes.

β β β β β Simply awesome. Don't expect too many amenities on the camp ground but the nature, beach and the woods are breathtaking. A plus: we ate tons of giant delicious blackberries...yummy!

β β β β β Kids are currently there with wife...thank you Camp Byng for giving me some quiet time! I'm getting photos and videos from my wife and kids...they are in heaven and having a blast. I wish that places like this were more heavily supported by our government so kids wouldn't sit at home playing video games and get out doors.

β β β β β Beautiful location, facilities and walking trails with access right to the beach. Had a workshop hosted here and absolutley adored the accommodations.

β β β β β I always love byng it is my favorite scouts campsite of all time. The scenery is awesome and it has always been well taken care of. Also the staff there are friendly and helpful

β β β β β This is a property owned by Scouts Canada and they rent it for Scouts Groups or in our case a Church youth camp. The facilities have several lodges with full commercial grade kitchens, dorms, bathrooms with showers (including hot water), extra cabanas, plenty of trails, and amazing ocean views and beaches. Definitely this a great place for medium to large sized events.
