My life has been transformed for the better and I know yours can be too. Discipling the nations is a mandate. This Bible based preaching, teaching, practicing and believing church with palpable testimonies of transformation, healing and miracles as we pray for one another and listen to Jesus speaking through vessels. Benefited so much from the Grow groups as well, which involves meeting for Lord’s supper in houses. Some of the high points include; Fellowship, Biblical teaching, Prayer, discipleship and praise and worship amongst others.

I visited this church for the first time yesterday for the 9:45am service. I was impressed by being greeted not once, twice but by three different people - outside door, inside door, and an usher. I felt they were genuine welcomes, not out of obligation. Wonderful! Pre-service prayer with music was already happening about 9:40am. It was a good warm-up to the actual song service. The songs were the typical 7-11 songs, and I knew most of them, but even the ones I didn't know, they were easy to learn and sing along to because they repeated over and over. In the right feel, it's a good thing! The singers were in tune! (I've been to churches where they weren't, and it's kinda painful). The musicians were not too loud and not too faint! I liked that they switched out the lead singer, to give both the congregation, and the leader a change. The sermon was from Pastor Sam. I love him! The right mix of sincerity and humour. He said "Pray for me. It's been 4 weeks now and I'm still stuck in Philippians chapter 1. I fear I may never get out". lol He did not shout, he spoke with enthusiasm, being quiet when appropriate. It was all Bible based and referred to scripture and real life applications. He walked around, and came into the aisles. He kept us engaged. I'll definitely be back to see if that was a one time thing or if it's all the time! It was packed for the 9:45, and the parking lot had cars circling looking for spots for the 11:45am service! Check it out! If you like Pentecostal type services with lots of emotion, clapping, tambourines, flag waving, dancing in the aisles - then this is the church for you!

Had never attended an African church before this. It was the last church on my list of approximately 15 churches to visit. Love the prayer meeting here every Friday at 7.30 pm-9.30 pm. The best is the Xtreme prayer every Friday from 10pm-12am ish. Presence of God is always always strong during Xtreme prayer meeting. It's so so hard to find Xtreme prayer meeting in Lower Mainland. Love that pastors and leaders allow people to pray in tongues as in Acts on the day of Pentecost, people prayed in tongues in PUBLIC!!!!!!! And it is sooooo strong. People who do not like presence of God or are possessed by demons will definitely not like it here as demons will be cast out!!!!!! LOL~~~ Love everytime when presence of God comes so strongly that deliverance and healing happen and prophecy flows. The Sunday services have been so so so powerful especially during the 2nd service. I have grown in the gifts of healing, prophecy, deliverance, evangelism and worship from attending Calvary Worship Centre.

One of the best churches in Surrey. Pastor Sam is the leading pastor and he preach powerful messages. Their Friday night prayer meeting is powerful time of prayer. If you like to practice the presence of God and go deeper in your prayer life attend the Friday night service. People are welcoming. Mostly African community but you will find people from all over the world here. It's a multicultural church, though the 70% of people are from Africa. Sunday's there will be two service mostly, morning 9.30 am and 11.30 am. I think most people attend the 9.30 am service, so the 11.30 am is less crowded, compare to the morning session. It's good time as you will have enough place to park in this area. Morning it will be more crowded and little difficult to find a parking spot. They have parent children room for children under two years old. So you can take care of your child while watching the service. For children above 2 years there is allotted rooms for each category.

Whether you're a believer or not, this church will welcome you! I particularly enjoy the worship here as well as the biblical teachings. If you want to walk alongside some hungry Christians, there's also many grow groups for you to press in and fellowship.

This review is written to provide an impartial and Biblical analysis so that people may use DISCERNMENT - especially the "discernment of spirits" mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:10 ("the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit" New Living Translation). 1. The first and foremost concern is the use of the un-biblical principle of "being slain in the spirit" practiced by the leaders of the church. There is absolutely NO biblical basis for this practice and for those who do not know, "slaying in the spirit" occurs when a church leaders touches someone they fall on their BACK like dead. The "official" version is that it is a work of the Holy Spirit and that while the person lays "slain" on the floor, the Holy Spirit is doing "repair work" inside them! The bottom line is, this is most likely a manifestation of another spirit. 2. Secondly, there is very little teaching of the Word of God here. It is mostly all about emotionalism and "experience", which can often mislead people. What the people of God need is solid Biblical teaching (1 Peter 2:2) and not emotionalism. The only way God's people will grow up to maturity is through studying God's Word, and when the church does not encourage people to study the Word, it creates spiritual dwarfs. 3. Speaking in Tongues in public. The leaders speak in tongues (or make wild noises, whichever you prefer) in public, during the service. Even a famous and godly pastor like the late David Wilkerson of Times Square Church in New York, who speaks in tongues in his private devotions, does not speak in tongues publicly in church (1 Cor. 14:19). Neither does Pastor Jim Cymbala of Brooklyn Tabernacle, who is sometimes mentioned as a "mentor" of the leaders. 4. Prayer meetings are times of extreme shouting. The leaders here mistake shouting for prayer and loudness for intensity. In the old testament, Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the Lord, but though her lips were moving, there was NO SOUND (1 Samuel 1:10, 13). So to insist that prayer has a higher dimension (intercession or whatever name you call it) in which loudness matters is clearly un-biblical. It is not spirit-led prayer but shouting sessions. Participants are told to "clap your hands and walk around", and again, there are prayers against "Marine Spirits" and so on. Where do you see Marine Spirits mentioned in the Bible? 5. Lack of doctrinal purity and clarity - some of the comments made by the leaders include things like, "the Holy Spirit can make you bark like a dog" and "There are marine spirits who live under water" (paraphrasing, not exact words). 6. Fake healings. The leaders sometimes claim the Lord is healing a lady's "back pain"! Seriously?? Back pain?? The Lord Jesus Christ, the Creator and Sustainer of the Whole Universe who raised Himself from the dead and also raised Lazarus from the dead? Heal a back pain? Who are you kidding, leaders? 7. Fake Prophecies. Some of the leaders claim that God is speaking to them "live". The so-called "prophets" who speak their own thoughts and say "God has spoken!" Some people say, "this is what God is saying" and then say something which comes from their own hearts. Please read Jeremiah 23:16: "This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD." 8. The "small groups" at the church, called "Grow Groups", are a joke. There is no real fellowship, friendship or edification and the meetings are not regular. Based on the above, if you want a solid BIBLICAL church, STAY AWAY! But if you want good worship songs, emotional experience, and "slaying in the spirit", go, by all means! Read Matthew 7:15 and Acts 20:29. And 1 John 4:1: " Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God..."

I went the first time on a Friday night which is prayer and worship night. THAT WAS POWERFUL. I grew up in a church where it was mostly based on preaching Gods commandments, (which is great). I told God I was hungry for miracles and to fall more in love with him. This church has my hands shaking, that's how strong the presence of the holy spirit is there. The people are so nice and God speaks through them. God gave me a message through a church member that had me burst out crying. (which has never happened to me before) I can usually control my emotions. I learned that there was hurt in me that had not yet healed. Thank you God for showing me.
