★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ordered a California Sauteed veggies sandwich. Although the whole sandwich was really very fresh, with really soft bread and a couple veggies in there, but i think the flavour and taste is missing. Need to spice it up a bit, and please invent more veggies options.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I met a few friends for lunch at this California Sandwiches location. There’s plenty of free parking and it’s a busy location.
My choice today was an $8.99 Veal Sandwich on a fresh Italian Kaiser. There is an additional charge for things like Provolone cheese $1.15, mushrooms $1.25, sautéed onions $0.50, etc. I kept my sandwich pure with just sauce.
For a drink, I had a bottled Pepsi $2.15 and then all taxes were extra.
There are a dozen tables that can seat 4 people and a few tables for two. You can view CP24 on two large screens while you dine.
The veal meal was fresh, flavourful and the sauce made the whole sandwich delicious!
Groups orders for pickup are welcomed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I got the veal sandwich with the works - the burger was SO BIG and it tasted amazing!! Staff were really friendly and pretty decent price for the burger. You do have to pay extra for the works as a topping.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been going to California sandwiches since 1972. Mostly at the original Claremont St location and the last few years mostly the one on the Queensway near Kipling. I love their steak sandwiches and especially the sauce. On Saturday afternoon, April 2 at about 3 pm I was leaving Chesswood arena and I saw the sign for California Sandwiches and decided to get a sandwich. I ordered one HOT steak with EXTRA sauce, one MEDIUM steak with EXTRA sauce and a medium container of sauce. Sadly I was taking them home to eat. These were the worst sandwiches I have ever gotten at a Californias sandwich!!! I don't know if the people that work there care at all about what they are doing or what they are putting on the sandwiches. Both sandwiches had NO hot peppers at all!! The sandwiches were nearly dry, very little sauce, I ordered xtra sauce!! As if this was not bad enough, the steak was dry and chewy, I was choking on it and the sauce!! It tasted exactly like Campbells Tomato Soup!!! I do not doubt that tomato soup was added to this sauce, it was a busy day at Chesswood arena so they were very busy. I know what their sauce tastes like, I always get an extra container of sauce, what was on my sandwich was NOT their normal sauce! So to sum up: NO hot peppers at all!! Dryed out steak, very little sauce when I ordered xtra sauce and the sauce tasted like it was a can of tomato soup!!! How they stay in business is beyond me.. I will never go back to that location again..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic veal sandwich of the quality that you would expect from this chain. Delicious tender breaded veal with the toppings you want (I'd recommend the deluxe), on a fresh bun. If you've never had one, be forewarned that it's a messy "sandwich", so be prepared, it's not food you want to eat on a first date. Expect to pay about $15 per person. Expect a line up and wait. Not the best location, but there's enough parking in the plaza.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 4.5 stars ?????. Only place to eat within walking distance of the GO train station ? as far as I can tell. Garden salad ? was only 5.50$ and although prepared in advance, it was fresh and crisp. They wouldn't do a side of meatballs for me so I had to order the full sandwich ?. Meatballs were okay, but definitely a lot of filler in them ?. Ordered the sandwich hot ? ? and it was the right amount of spice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ordered Steak sandwich and it took about 20 mins. Had I ordered the same sandwich at Macdonalds, it wouldn’t have taken more than 5 mins. The sandwich is good though. It tastes yummy. They have to find a way to speed up the preparation of the sandwich. Nowadays, speed of processing and delivery is the key benchmark for customer satisfaction. Believe me.
