This Folk Club brings some of the world’s most talented singers, songwriters and musicians to a venue that not only has fabulous sound, but a “down home” Canadian feeling.

Thank you, Calgary Folk Club, … In the early 90s in another lifetime, when we still lived in Calgary, we were loyal Calgary Folk Club season's pass holders. We enjoyed the live music and camaraderie so much that even in bad winter weather we would happily make our way from the deep southeast to the far northwest, never missing a show. Then life happened and we moved on. We have continued to be avid live music supporters these many years, and although without a doubt Calgary is THE hub of live folk/roots music in the country, if not the world (!), thankfully there is a lively music scene out here on the west coast too. Then suddenly everything changed. When live music came crashing to a halt in 2020, our search for streamed shows began and ... here we are, enjoying our second season of the Calgary Folk Club from afar. We were thrilled by what you had to offer last year in terms of pre-taped shows, and after each show we'd wish and hope that the CFC would consider continuing with streamed shows, even when in-person viewing became possible again. Turns out wishes do come true. So, we would just like to take this opportunity to give all of you a great big thank you for embracing the idea and technology of live streaming shows. We imagine it's not without its frustrations, but so you know, we are very grateful. The music and lineup are excellent, the videography is too, and the intermission interviews with the performers are a welcome touch. In some ways it's like a homecoming after 25-ish years - we actually feel like we are present on show nights as we settle down with takeout and a glass of wine in anticipation of another great evening with the Calgary Folk Club. We imagine doing this forever!
