โ โ โ โ โ I came here for a quick, cheap Chinatown dinner with a business partner. I ordered the fried egg noodles with chicken/beef/pork (chow mein) for around $13.
The portions were HUGE! While they were a little light on meat, the food was very tasty, the service was quick and attentive, the environment felt fairly clean and the establishment was quiet and calm. The decor could use an update and the restaurant would benefit from better ventilation, but it was still quite good.
I would recommend the fried noodles here with a little hot sauce.

โ โ โ โ โ Cafe Orient reminds me of the Toronto Chinese restaurant scene. The food here really brings me back to good Chinese food. If you are ever around, it is worth your time to stop by for a bite.
The staff are really nice and the food is really good. The prices are pretty good for Ottawa. Very family friendly, groups of friends or even alone.
They serve all kind of Chinese food, from meals to dim sum.

โ โ โ โ โ Best kept secret in Ottawa Chinatown!
This little gem is one of our favourite restaurants in town. It serves Hong Kong style comfort food, like congee, soup noodles, and dim sum.
The food is consistently good, quick service, but no credit cards accepted, cash or Interac only. The place is almost always packed.
Some of my favourite dishes include seafood congee with thousand years eggs, steamed black-bean ribs, beef shank flat rice noodles, fried dough in rice paper wrapping (็ธๅ, French toast and a Hong Kong style milk tea to die for!
Its washrooms are quite unique, everything in the washroom is automated, including a rotating toilet seat, and a garbage bin that opens with a swipe of hand.

โ โ โ โ โ The food is always great here. The servers are friendly and attentive with your orders/request. Weโve never left this place disappointed with the quality of their food - especially with it being very affordable.
They have dim sum order menus available as well.
I only wish their wasnโt such a strong odour while sitting there to dine, hard to describe but itโs very close to the smell of moth balls mixed with the smell of a public washroom. This was really only noticeable the last 2 times weโve came here - hopefully itโs gone now.

โ โ โ โ โ This place has truly the best Cantonese food that you can get in Ottawa. Consistenly authentic, flavourful, satisfying, and overall just delicious. We have been going here at least bi-weekly since before I was born (well over 20 years) and it really never fails.
Must try: efu noodles, ma po tofu, and beef tendon if you like that. Really any dish is a win.

Iโve dined at Cafe Orient multiple times.
Their shanghai dumpling is a must have, along with some other dim sums!
Their fish fillet with creamy corn was very delicious, I would recommend to others.

โ โ โ โ โ Cafe Orient serves Hong Kong style Chinese food. I've been coming here for years. I really do enjoy their wide selection of dishes to try from. I have many pictures but not sure where the rest are but I'll update with more pictures since I know I will be back.
Plenty of parking, normally don't have to wait as they have enough tables from my experience.
They also serve dim sum here. I have too many favourite dishes so I would recommend you to try everything on the menu once and see what you like.
