J	Jenna Tulls on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was there for coffee the morning of this incident. A clearly inebriated person came in with outside food/beverages clearly in violation of their policy. They put up a huge fuss when told to leave and was verbally abusing the staff. Once outside there was a physical altercation. The individual in question was seen assaulting a staff member. Feel terribly for the staff, who have been working tirelessly during the pandemic. Love the food and drinks here & will continue to come. keep up the good work and hope no more unruly, intoxicated customers decide to stumble in.
d	david z. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My friend was getting a coffee and I decided to go in with him. He ordered his coffee and I noticed the cash only sign and let my friend know. As he was pulling out his wallet the cashier directed his attention to me and asked me what I wanted. I said no thank you, I'm just with my friend. Then when my friend paid, the cashier directed his attention to me again and asked again what I wanted. I said I'm not interested in anything (I wasn't even carrying any cash) and he said that's okay since my friend's order was to go. Otherwise I'd have to order something if I wanted to stay. We left and sat down at the table outside briefly for him to tie his shoes and almost immediately the cashier comes outside and tells me I have to buy something. Very rude. Coffee was apparently not that good for the price.

J	Jeff NG on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is legend. Honestly, I've been all over and this is the best coffee shop I've been too. Sandwiches are so good and fresh. Coffee excellent. Gelato top notch. But its the overall experience this family has created and maintained that is truly special. Every day is a celebration at this place. Its over the top, colorful and wonderful. These guys are proud Italians and they treat guests to the experience. Prices are good. Very reasonable as when you get a sandwich here its all done at that time. The meat is sliced on the spot and its a good portion. Veg is crisp. This is not saran wrapped leftovers. Its cash only and there are no prices on the menu board. Some tourists get worried but just ask, they'll tell you the price (its not expensive). When you get your order you'll see they are offering good value and like me you'll go back every chance you get. I left Vancouver years ago but this place is first on my list every time I visit the city as there's nothing like it anywhere. Best part this is a real family business. Every one of those handsome guys you see are brothers. If you are lucky, Frank Sr may make an appearance as well.

It truly has to be seen to be believed. The decor is larger than life and just a feast for the eyes. Great atmosphere and the proof is in the pudding: a family establishment opened in the 70s and still full of lively regulars. Now I want to visit Italy!

The place is oozing Italian charm, from the selection of coffee, food, pastries, and gelato, to the indulgent decoration, to the music selection. The owner is very genuine and friendly, and he treats everyone with the same care whether or not they're a "regular". Coffee and sandwiches are really good, sandwiches are made to order. Gelato is the real deal, there's a good selection, and you get about twice as much gelato for the price as you would at most gelato shops in the city.
