★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our daughter's car broke down on the Patricia's Bay highway. We had it towed to the Burkmar Automotive because the shop has 5 star review. They indicated to us it would cost $1000 to replace the fuel pump. We agreed even though a new pump on Amazon costs only $370+tax. The next day she came to pick up the car and now they wanted $1300. When she disagreed with the charges, the shop told her "you either pay, or no car". What kind of gang operation is this they are running! They bullied our daughter who badly needed her car to return to Metro Vancouver. We would like to warn and CAUTION any other potential customers about our terrible experience dealing with this Burkmar Automotive shop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I brought my truck in two years ago when it wouldn't fire up. The guys at Burkmar told me I needed a new distributor, a $500 part, which I said to install.
I recently took my truck into a different shop and they mentioned my engine was misfiring. I asked them to investigate and they said I needed a new distributor. You would expect a $500 part to last longer than two years.
The shop also told me that a new distributor through them comes with a lifetime warranty. At Burkmar the part only came with a one year warranty. So now I am out another $600.
I won't say whether to trust this shop or avoid them, but I figured I would share my experience and you can decide for yourself.
