★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Errr just surprised to see reviews specifically celebrating the "super friendly" staff - the two times we went they all seemed a little inexplicably surly, you know just typical teen girls. I mean not terrible, just normal, as to be expected from teen girls. But the baked GF treats were sooo good. Almost missed out on them though, I felt like I was low key interrogating one girl who hinted they may have cookies left not on display, but didn't seem to want to sell them to me ??? I got the feeling it was 30 min til close and maybe they wanted the leftovers ? she parted with them in the end though and they were so good

I have ordered coffee over the years from all of the acknowledged high end roasters in BC, Alberta and one in Ontario.I didn't intitially buy in bulk from Nick because the offerings simply didn't equal what I had purchased from 49th parallel or Eclipse in Canmore. Over the past 2 years Nick has offered some fantastic roasts from Ethopia., Columbia and Costa Rica, that are equal too or better than coffee I have purchase from 49th parallel by example. We are very fortunate to have this roaster in a one horse town like Smithers,BC.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cute little café on the corner. The coffee was decent and the staff was extremely friendly, however, everything was priced a little higher than average and two drinks took about 20 minutes to make even though the lineup was almost nonexistent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent! Coffee , food, people, location, setup, everything. It's almost setup like a permanent food truck, open air with the seating on a sidewalk plaza (including a piano under an umbrella).
Got their version of a mocha which was very nice and a delicious cacao cookie as a reward after my crater lake hike (also recommended). Many of their baked items are gluten free.
Maybe you came to Smithers because, like me, you slept at the glacier view rest area about 10km from town and awoke to find a sign directing you there or maybe you planned to come here and enjoy the quaint Swiss/Dutch ambiance. Whatever your reason be sure to go here and save room for two sisters down the street as well. Maybe just drink your Bugwood brew while you walk down to two sisters for another. Why not? You're on vacation!
