Welcome to Buck Lake Wilderness Lodges and Outposts

This is our invitation to you to experience a truly Canadian fly-in fishing trip. Whether you choose one of our two deluxe housekeeping lodges on Obakamiga (Buck) Lake or one of our four outpost cabins, you will be sure to have the experience of a lifetime!

It is always our goal to maintain and improve our business. We are very excited to announce that we have acquired 4 outpost locations. These additional cabins will increase the options we can now offer our guests. All our facilities are located in the boreal forests of Northern Ontario and are accessible only by float plane.

Fly-in fishing trips are the ultimate Canadian angling experience. With Buck Lake Wilderness Lodges and Outposts you will access pristine lakes that teem with trophy walleye, aggressive northern pike, and jumbo perch. The splendor of this unspoiled wilderness will amaze you!

Our fishing is remarkable because of the management of the fishery. With our catch and release policy that has been in effect for nearly 20 years, anglers are encouraged to enjoy the tasty smaller fish but to release the trophy sized fish that are consistently caught. This ensures the unparalleled fishing remains unchanged for future generations.

The only thing keeping this Ohio USA family away from Buck Lake the last year was Covid 19 and a closed border! Great Fly In, Excellent fishing, mindful accommodations and the most hospitable Owners. We miss you John and Shannon and the rest of the crew!!! Dale and Judy Curtis. ❀️

We start planning our trip back to Buck Lake on the drive home from fishing each year. We come back not only because the fishing is great with many different favorite spots whether we are after perch, walleye or northern pike, but also to see the friends we have made with John, Shannon and the boys. If you are looking for a fly in fishing trip this is the place I would highly recommend.

My brother has been working for Shannon and John at Buck Lake Lodges and Outposts for the last few summers and it's an absolutely amazing destination. I had the pleasure of going up for a week last summer and had an amazing experience. The fishing was incredible, I've never caught so many walleye in my life. The cabins were very clean and comfortable and the location is breathtaking. 10/10 recommend at your next fly-in getaway.

The very best in Canadian fly-in fishing. Our group has visited a variety of lodges, outposts, and resorts throughout Ontario, and none of them have compare to the amenities and hospitality offered by John, Shannon, and Buck Lake Lodges. The cabins are all clean, spacious, and very comfortable, including all necessary dishes, utensils, and clean linens. The fish house is perfect for what it's forβ€”screened in, with running water, electricity, plenty of room, and buckets that are emptied regularly. The hosts, John, Shannon, and family, are incredible. Attentive to every need, kind, courteous, and a wealth of knowledge and history of Buck Lake. They clean the boats and top off the gas tanks every morning, before most of us are even out of bed. And then there's the boats... If your group is anything like ours, you're probably spending upwards of 6-8 hours in the boat each day, so comfort and reliability are major priorities. If this is the case for you, the premium boats at Buck Lake are second to noneβ€”period. The size is perfect for 2-3 guys and all of their gear, leaving plenty of room to move around the boat as necessary. The boats include live-wells, rubber fish nets, fish finders, side-storage, and a bilge pump for pumping out excess waterβ€”which is incredibly handy in the rain. The premium boats also come with a 30 hp Yamaha motor to get you from one end of the lake to the other in no time. The electric start and thumb controlled trim are thoughtful additions that make a big difference when navigating the lake. Finally, there's Buck Lakeβ€”or Lake Obakamiga. Buck Lake offers everything an angler could want in a fly-in fishery. An abundance of trophy fish, tons of wildlife, and all of the structure one could ask for. Deep holes. Shallow weed beds. Rock structure. Mud Flats. You name it, and Buck Lake has it. Bottom line, if you're on the fence about where to go for a true Canadian fly-in fishing experience, stop looking and book your trip with Buck Lake. You won't be disappointed.
