★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When you go from Icefields Parkway to Nam-Ti-Jah Lodge which is less than one Kilometer away, you find this parking lot before the lodge. You can walk a short distance to the edge of Bow Lake with magnificent views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Naturally you can also walk in direction of the lodge and watch the lake from in front of it.
There are bathrooms in parking lot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful and serene... the walkable gravel trail around the lake is a must to tred. It offers different views of the lake. My favourite was a small wooden bridge.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This one of my favorite lakes to photo shoot. Each mountain is unique and majestic. The peaks capture the sun in many different and enchanting ways.
Bow lake falls is an intermediate/easy hike that is more than worth the views. Bring a poncho or heavy raincoat if you intend to get close to the waterfalls. It’s quite misty!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Holy crowded. I see why there are 8 toilets! There are certainly not enough parking spots, although the lot is a fair size.
The overflow of cars leads to people parking on both sides of the road which in turn makes it extra hard for some people to extricate their vehicle from the tangle of cars. Pile on cars coming in and cars wanting to leave with only width for one vehicle down the middle, and it makes for all kinds of drama.
As much as I don't want to see this pristine area damaged, I think it incumbent on Parks Canada and the proprietors operating nearby Num Tah Jah Lodge to widen the road and pave the parking area. This problem will only get worse ? if they don't take control and manage it.
Too bad the gift shop in the Lodge isn't open for refreshments etc. Its a nice place to have a break on the way back from the Columbia Icefield and so we will often skip Bow Lake on the way up in favour of dropping in on the way back through.
If you have the time (at least 2.5 hours) I highly recommend the Bow Glacier Falls Trail. Totally awesome and easy hike for everyone!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sleeping on parking lot is a good idea . It will get enough time to hiking far. Especial a quiet parking lot let you wake up early to watch a amazing sunrise.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great spot for a short stop. Not so busy as at Lake Louise. The lake was still frozen, but the scenery was breath taking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a beautiful place. It has a pebble beach, that you can canoe and do some water sport in. Water looks calm and has a beautiful light blue/ turquoise color. The back ground has beautiful mountain with snow on top. We took the pictures in the evening but it still look beautiful.
