Ordered some wings for takeout and they took forever! The door was good once we finally got it, but almost an hour for a small pizza and 2 orders of wings?

We have been frequenting Boston pizza for many, many years. It is one of our favourite pizza joints, so needless to say we are quite familiar with their menu, and in particular, their pizza. We lived in the city before moving to the area three years ago. We live between Winnipeg and Steinbach, and usually patronize the Boston on Regent, however, we sometimes wander into Steinbach and have eaten lunch here. The last few visits, the pizza has been horrendous here. It is grossly over-cooked and dried out. I had been too polite the past couple of times to send the pizza back. But not today. I had enough! We were there for lunch. We always dine in the lounge. First off, when we arrived, it was fairly busy. It took a bit before the waitress came. I noticed some of the tables were a bit dirty. The table we were at had not been wiped; it had drink rings and a few crumbs. I asked the waitress if she could please wipe the table. She was the only one working and could have used another staff member on duty to help her!! When ordering, I had mentioned to the waitress the problems we had in the past with the pizza being over-baked, toppings under the cheese instead of on top, etc. I had specifically asked her to ensure it was not over-baked. We ordered a medium perogy, medium pepperoni and two orders of pizza bread. One order of pizza bread was to go for later at home, and I also ordered an extra bolognese sauce to go with that. When the pizzas came, they were over-done (again). My husband accepted the perogy, but I rejected the pepperoni. It was horrible looking. It was terribly over-cooked; the crust was not golden brown but more of a chocolate brown…a little longer in the oven and it would have been burnt. Most of the topping and cheese was in the centre of the pizza, as evidenced by about the 2” of dark, dried out crust that was showing around the circumference. The whole pizza looked sunken and dried out. I wish I had taken a photo. The waitress said it looked great, but I suppose if you work there and look at overdone dried out pizza all day, it probably would look good. I sent it back and they made another. In the meantime, a manager came and talked to us and I expressed my disappointment and frustration with the quality of pizza here. I told him in all the years I had been going to Boston, I have never been served pizza like this, and that it was not the first time this happened here. Boston pizza is not cheap pizza, and I expect to get a quality pizza. Usually, when we are there, we spend between $100-130 on food and drinks. He apologized and said he would not charge us for the pizza. When he brought out the second pizza, it was cooked perfectly with the topping to within 1/2” of the crust, like it is supposed to be. After all, I am not paying for crust, so they should not skimp on toppings and cheese by putting most of it in the centre. They claimed that they didn’t know what went wrong because they strictly adhere to the cooking procedures that Boston follows, and he said that the second pizza, which was cooked perfect, was only cooked for half the time. Hmmmmm….I guess the other Boston outlets are under-cooking theirs then??? I think not. So not sure what is going on in their kitchen there. Some kind of misunderstanding by the cooks, short-staffed, cutting corners on toppings, someone sleeping at the switch or just plain laziness??? I don’t know. Also, we had ordered an extra order of bolognese to go; when we got home, the one cup was full, the extra order… the cup was only 1/4 full. And we paid for a full sauce, not a 1/4 sauce. What a disappointment. At least the manager covered the pepperoni pizza and apologized to us and said he would speak to the staff. On our way out, I noticed a gentleman eating a personal cheese pizza. It was over-cooked and burnt looking also. So fed up with this location! Sorry Boston Steinbach, but in the future when we want Boston, we will venture to the City to get it, so that we get it done properly, and when in Steinbach, we will be giving our business to Santa Lucia.

Was told we would have to wait and hour and a half to an hour and 45min. So we gave our info and waited to be called. We received our phone call at roughly and hour and a half later, great! Only to be told we would be waiting another hour for the food to be ready. Please make it a priority to tell people that prior to making them wait just to get a table.

Last time we ordered pizza, it was 45 minutes later than the promised delivery time. This round the pizza was delivered was on time, but was barely even warm and still doughy and raw. Pretty disappointed with Boston Pizza.

Always good food, atmosphere, staff and experience. If there is ever an issue, they handle it very well. My daughter has loved going there since she was 3 (she's 7 now). Very consistent!

We actually had a really nice time there. The pizza was phenomenal! I ate a lot of pizza and I was really impressed with the new menu. The service and management we're very warm and professional. It was a shame to see so many empty seats but it was lunchtime on Valentine's Day.
