About Bonobo's Foods
The bonobo's closest relative is the chimpanzee, except unlike chimps, bonobo's diet is predominantly herbivore. If humans were more like the bonobo and less like the chimpanzee, the world would be a more peaceful place. Where chimpanzees are aggressive and more quarrelsome, bonobos are great appeasers. This might be because the females are in charge. The chimp clan is ruled by an alpha male who displays acts of machismo. In bonobo groups, the males are kept in their place by the alpha female and her sister animals who are looked to by all, including males, for defense and security. Much of the interaction between bonobos are erotically tactile and they spend a great deal of time mating, not simply just for procreation but as a social activity, to resolve disputes and avoid confrontations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoy everything about this place, fantastic wonderful food, even better with the seating. Very hard to park I would suggest parking on the other side of Oliver road, and walk a short distance. Other than that the service is swift, only about 10 min wait before we received our food. This was the lunch special. I do believe Mac And Cheese Burger.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was absolutely the BEST vegetarian burger I have ever had. In fact I have been craving more since I visited. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Bonobo's to everyone, vegetarian or not! I just wish it wasn't almost 1500 kms away. If you are ever in Thunder Bay check it out. You won't be disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a great place with great staff. Such a nice welcoming and cozy place. The food is really succulent! My friend didn't even notice that the chicken burger was vegan. The Cashew ice-cream with fried bananas a MUST HAVE!! Great job Bonobo's.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm a regular omnivore (not vegetarian, not vegan), but this is one of my favorite restaurants in town. Their salads are always fresh and abundant, and the house dressings are all very very yummy. They also have really good fries, which honestly was a bit of a surprise to me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ AMAZING! This place was everything we were looking for in terms of a hearty vegan meal. It didn't look like much when we rolled up, but it was a delightful surprise inside! It was warm and welcoming with great vibes, the staff were lovely with quick service and the food was divine!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the sweet salad from Bonobo’s today, and I swear if I was in a bad mood, that salad would have cheered me up. It was like I was eating pure joy or something.
I’m a huge fan of eating meat, but I am trying to make a few changes in my eating habits to cut down the amount of meat that I consume in a week.
I have been scouring the city and the internet for tasty and filling salads, and let me tell ya, the Sweet Salad is a winner.
Fantastic friendly service and I will be going back to try more options later.
I don’t know if I would ever be 100% vegan or vegetarian. Bonobos does a great job in convincing me that it is very possible and delicious.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The interior of this place have a classic rock vibe. This place serves vegan and vegetarian options. We ordered a Veggie Burger, Spicy Poutine and Cauliflower Pakoras.
The Burger was amazing. The patty was made up of seeds, nuts and chickpeas. You could get seeds and nuts in each bite and the flavours were so fresh and different. Definitely not the regular tasting burger. Infact a much better, healthier and tastier version of burger. Because of the seeds and nuts, it kind of fills you up pretty quick. We enjoyed our all the 3 dishes. The staff is friendly too! We definitely recommend this place.
