About Bodhi Bodies Strength, Yoga, & Wellness

I am inspired by the body. 

My life’s work has involved studying how to gain strength, become faster, gain muscle, lose fat, and live a healthier life. This internal drive led me to finish a degree in Kinesiology and work for several years with others striving to master physical fitness in conventional gyms. We became superficially stronger, more muscular, leaner… and yet deeper health – let alone wellbeing – seemed to remain out of reach. The pace of life and the stressors and demands of conventional training, always felt unbalanced. 

I had a strong yearning for a more holistic approach and this is why I left for India to study yoga and meditation for several years. I transformed, both externally and internally, as a result of daily practice involving physical postures, breathing, meditation and envisioning. In India I came to realize that flexibility, suppleness, grounding, and inner wellness were all just as important to overall health as the strengthening and conditioning aspects I had worked to master previously.

Returning to Canada, I was nurturing a dream to combine strength coaching with yoga training. Physical strength is only a small part of wellness, and now more than ever we need a balanced approach to fitness; one that gives us the tools to calm our minds and connect deeply within.

Bodhi Bodies Wellness was created to give training services and programs through this more balanced approach. We offer tailored solutions to help clients find their own internal and external balance. 

At Bodhi Bodies Wellness the emphasis is holistic. Train your physical body so that you can live life to the fullest, now and into old age. Train your mind so that you can stay calm in stressful situations, finding greater peace along life’s path and in dealing with everybody you meet along the way.

A teacher like no other. Ryan's approach to wellness is a whole body inclusion. Connecting the body in motion to breath. As the breath softens the mind, it brings you home to the soul. His approach to the physical postures in yoga (asanas) teaches the student an in depth understanding of their bodies in motion and in stillness. His descriptive verbal cues help the practitioner to fully engage the correct muscles, resulting in a complete expression of the posture. This is helping the body to become stronger and more flexible in a safe yet FASTER way. What's more is that Ryan teaches the most important aspects of yoga, which is a life changing journey for the student. As someone who has practiced alongside Ryan in India, with some of the best teachers, (including direct disciples of iyengar (Usha)) , I know and deeply value the rarity of a true yoga teacher like Ryan. Ryan has been able to put together an excellent program for me by combining his sound background as both a strength and conditioning coach and yoga teacher. Coach Ryan Gallant is super nice and is very knowledgeable about physiology. I am 72 and was a couch potato for many years and then went through a knee replacement and two foot surgeries. I made up my mind to do something so started training with Ryan. He was very understanding of my age and my physical limitations and he started my training very gently. Soon my stamina and well-being increased and I started feeling stronger. Besides that I lost weight and could do many activities that I couldn’t do before. This really was life changing for me and so I highly recommend him as a coach. Joy Buset ?
