★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have bank with this branch since the 90s. Some older staff we dealt with originally have retried.
Staff are product knowedgable giving good advice in RRSPs, mortage, loans, opening new accounts and so forth.
Normally at least 2 tellers are open and 3 if the line ups are long.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Made an appointment online to come to THIS branch and open an account. When I showed up I was told I didn't have an appointment and was told that their system often does this and books people in a different province.
I was told she would take care of me and get me in today. She came back and said I never made an appointment (again blaming me) and told me I could have an appointment 5 hours later at the branch FURTHEST from my home. That's "taking care of me and making it right"

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried for hours to talk to someone by phone. Seems impossible. I’m transferring my account to a credit union, where they treat customers as if they matter, and where my deposit will be 100% secured. I’ve had it with the BMO!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When I recently opened a bank account here, they were very helpful. I was totally impressed with the fact that that the second time I was there, one of the tellers created me by name, as I came in the door. I have phoned a couple of times and have not had my phone calls returned. I went down to the branch and they quickly resolved the issue. It is nice to be treated as a person instead of a number.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On July 10th I put $17,000.00 on my BMO cr card on line. On July 15th I attempted to charge my dogs vet visit $245. Approx. several attempts and it was declined. On the 16th I attempted to gas up my car $50. Declined. I was part way into Victoria and the nearest BMO was in Oak Bay. I went there and the lone teller phoned somewhere to find out what was going on. He gave me the phone to hold and wait as he had other customers. Very annoying! The teller spoke with someone and then told me I paid a large amount of money on my account and the Bank has put a stop on it because of the amount I paid. He then said they are checking me out for money laundering. Several heard this how terrible! I frequently pay off large amounts and have never had a problem or been checked out for money laundering. He also told me I’m better to pay large amounts by paying a small amt and then the balance. Remember the acct was first paid on the 10th this was the 16th and I’m told it will be another 4 to 5 days before I can use my card again. I’m furious this is absolutely ridiculous. What is going on? I’m going into the Sidney branch today July 17th and someone better have a better explanation or this will go further

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ they never answer phone calls and if you leave a message, they never reply. Once I called and left a message, they didn't call back so I thought they were busy. I drove to there and saw there was no customer and the staffs were standing together chatting and laughing. No one checked phone messages!
