About Blaq Bear Eco Adventures Routes

Since that fateful trip, we have hiked the entire Bruce and Grand Valley Trails, and completed the West Coast Trail and portions of Lake Superior Provincial Park. We also have paddled numerous rivers both in Ontario and across Canada. A few years ago, we had the pleasure of hiking Ireland's Kerry Way. That trip, beautiful though it was, reinforced our belief that we have a treasure right here in our backyard.'

The Voyageur Trail anchors numerous trails along the northern shores of Lake Huron and Lake Superior. It is a footpath through the forest, leading you to countless vistas and scenic viewpoints.
It is a true wilderness trail often tracking several kilometers away from any real roads and then dipping into quaint communities.

At Blaq Bear, we have been involved, on a volunteer basis, with the Voyageur Trail Association since 2008, and continue to support the organization in every way possible.

We strive to make your trip an experience to remember.

Best week ever on a amazing lake. Cabin was excellent and what we expected, trails and swimming was great. Hosts were amazing getting our stuff into cabin and especially our kayaks. A great 11km hike into cabin...highly recommend.

A group of 7 of us had a girls night out and we did the wine and dine walking tour with Carole the owner of Blaq Bear Adventures being our guide. We had a fantastic time! 2 of the 3 stops our group had never been before which made the outing even more enjoyable. Carole was very knowledgeable about our city of Sault Ste Marie and told us interesting things that we never knew about our city before. My favorite stop was Broers Jansen a wine pub. Enjoyed the food, wine and atmosphere. Definitely will go back. And I highly recommend trying one of Carole's tours?

Norm's cabin is a beautiful and tranquil place! Carole made the whole experience even more enjoyable! From meeting us at the parking lot to transfer ALL our gear so we could bike in, making sure the cabin was completely spotless upon arrival, and providing all the small details - towels, sheets, spot device, maps, drinking water, etc. So wonderful to meet you Carole and we can't wait to come back! Norm's cabin is the perfect secluded adventure hub - biking, hiking, trail running, canoeing, bird watching, fishing at your door step. Everyone needs to come experience and enjoy it!!

Carole was a wonderful host. We found her through AirBnB and stayed for a weekend. Everything was taken care of for us. She transported our gear for us by canoe and made sure we were completely prepared for our hike and for our stay. The cabin was clean and well-stocked with cooking supplies and fresh linens. We hope to stay again!

We did the Sugar Shack trail with Carole, and it was great! Carole was lovely and very informative, and the hike was a lot of fun. Highly recommended, we'll be doing it again next time we're in the Soo!

Hi I went to norms cabin with 3 friends this summer and all I can say is I had a very hard time leaving to come home. One of the quietest most relaxing times I have ever had. We swam, kayaked, hiked, played cards, read, and relaxed every day. Didn't see another person all week. Do bring bug spray for when you are hiking in the woods but very few while on the lake or at the cabin. Carole and her hubby were very easy and friendly to deal with :) The cabin and location is even better than expected. Cant wait for next year's stay
